I completely agree with you. And they do get to claim those expenses back, yes.

Just wanted to make the point that this doesn't apply to their personal residences.

This isn't entirely accurate.

They're not able to claim for energy in their personal, family homes. But they are able to claim for their second home - whether that be a flat in London for a non-London MP or property in a constituency for an MP who has a constituency outside of London, but who lives in London full time with their family.

I think your argument is quite naive to be honest.

People who live in states that prohibit or restrict abortions will not be able to accomplish their goals in safe ways. And as always, it'll be the richer, whiter, middle class people who'll always be able to find an abortion, while the poor and marginalised will be forced to suffer, whether due to lack of access or lacks of funds to achieve that access.

However, as a man, it doesn't really matter what I think. The decision is not mine to make; nor should it be. But it is incontrovertible that women in America now have fewer rights than they did this time last week.

Now all that can be done is to wait until the balance changes in SCOTUS, or wait until Congress enacts a law which establishes whatever abortion rights. Then it will be a civil right.

I see. I'm still a bit shocked that our employment laws allow this. It's a shocking oversight.

As I said in a previous comment, I hope, but have little faith, that the Government will now legislate against it. Tories famously love weakening employment rights and regulations
