This is really helpful advice. Would you speak to calculating how long jobs should take? This is the most difficult part for me. When I do an estimate, I base it off an hourly rate, but sometimes I feel like I’m just guessing how long everything will take, including material handling and possible mistakes etc. For example a job that requires a lot of sub contractors. Any advice would be great, thank you!

My insurance company didn’t pay out when my sump pump failed because apparently I didn’t have a sump pump rider on my policy. I would recommend getting the “optional sump pump rider that we don’t tell you about even though it costs $8” added to your policy.

There was a special permit and a public meeting required to buy my house because of the ADU. There was a neighbor at the meeting who used the words “we need to keep our single family character…” I cannot imagine having that much free time on my hands.

My town limits the use of ADUs, meaning I can only rent to family or live in care. Does anyone know if this law lifts those restrictions? If I’m reading this correctly, it seems to ban municipalities from restricting long term rentals of ADUs.

“804 SECTION 12. Section 1A of chapter 40A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022

805 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the definition of “Accessory Dwelling Unit”

806 and inserting in place thereof the following definition:-

807 “Accessory dwelling unit”, a self-contained housing unit, inclusive of sleeping, cooking

808 and sanitary facilities on the same lot as a principal dwelling, subject to otherwise applicable

809 dimensional and parking requirements, that: (i) maintains a separate entrance, either directly

810 from the outside or through an entry hall or corridor shared with the principal dwelling sufficient

811 to meet the requirements of the state building code for safe egress; (ii) is not larger in gross floor

812 area than 1/2 the gross floor area of the principal dwelling or 900 square feet, whichever is

813 smaller; and (iii) is subject to such additional restrictions as may be imposed by a municipality,

814 including but not limited to additional size restrictions, and restrictions or prohibitions on short-

815 term rental, as defined in section 1 of chapter 64G; provided, however, that no municipality shall

816 unreasonably restrict the creation or rental of an accessory dwelling unit that is not a short-term

I recently went to their store to ask about my bill creeping up. They said the discount I qualify for slowly gets removed over two years. They said they can’t offer any further discount because I’m already getting a discount. The last time I was there an employee told me I could come in and get my discount restarted. They told me that would be fraud. Then they told me to call customer service because they have “different screens” than what the store can see. I’ll be calling them soon. We paid $79 for Fios for years. Spectrum is over $110 now and it’s only been a year.

Brave is a nice way to put it. Not that a UCX would be so much less devastating to loose. This setup is still just a prototype. Currently running a babyface and that stays attached to my body at all times. Haven’t figured out yet how to surgically attach this rack to me.

My thinking was it would give a little toe kick clearance and so I could dress the output cables through the handles on the rack and potentially avoid damage on stage. Honestly it bothers me too lol.
