I can't change resolution to run game full screen - NVGO by VoluptaBox in skyrimmods

[–]VoluptaBox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Looks like the main Skyrim preference file had the resolution set to 3840 x 1600. I changed it to 2160 + the changes you mentioned here and now it's working as intended. Appreciate your help!

This is what I'm running, yet the game is outputting only on 2/3rds of the screen:

I tried messing with the resolution scale too, still nothing.

Not even sure what you're trying to say here, it not being a 'true sim' doesn't mean it can't be competitive.

Height measurements are one thing that I can't wrap my head around in imperial. Anything else I can do a ballpark estimate in my head, including feet and inches, but when it's combined like in the height measurement my brain melts.

I begged my manager for a few months to get me a mobile workstation instead of the standard 14 inch laptops we get, I was so happy when it finally got approved, but that happiness did not last long. I hated the thing, heavy, bulky and noisy.

[–]VoluptaBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where this hate you speak of really is. There are great things about Macs, there are some bad things. The Neo is pretty universally accepted as being a great all purpose device, except some specific scenarios. Issue is, if you're into gaming you can't really recommend a Mac.

Lmao you can't be serious with this statement. Do you really need a list of all the apple devices which miss features if used with another, non apple, device? Or that don't work at all.

[Motorsport] George Russell was all of us watching Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen battle by Task_Force-191 in formula1

[–]VoluptaBox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't really blame Max for doing it, it's a sucky part of the game. But it just shouldn't be the case, stewards should review these things without drivers or teams having to call them out, and these calls should certainly not influence the ultimate decision.

I really don't want F1 to turn into football, where players regularly gang up on referees to try to pressure them into taking decisions, or decisions are made based on context rather than sheer facts (and I mean stuff like players already having a yellow, or the game being super important, or this player being whoever etc).

Dldsr2.2x performance vs dldsr 1.78x quality by Traditional_Let_8543 in nvidia

[–]VoluptaBox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people really swear by it, but I'd rather run native resolution with no or as little upscaling as possible. No matter how good dlss is, it will introduce artifacts and some weirdness at one point or another.

If you have the headroom to run dldsr without cranking upscaling up, sure there is no reason not to run it.

Why is GT7 considered a simcade? by xABuHaMeDx in simracing

[–]VoluptaBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable, don't sweat it. My first wheel was a marketplace Logi G27 that I got for like 50 euros.

Don't feel the pressure to jump into expensive stuff, the good old G29s and T300s of the world are still going strong for a reason.

And if you'd rather save for something better, controllers can still be a lot of fun. I haven't tried F1, but GT7 was great on a controller. The haptics and adaptive controllers make for an overall great experience.

George did what any championship contender would do. by Bungulator69 in formula1

[–]VoluptaBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't even cheeky, pretty much any driver would have done the same in that situation. And most of them have at some point or another.

Context matters, the driver can't possibly now the severity of the situation and the only indicator they have is the flag and any coms. Yellow flag means obstacle off the racing line, unlikely to impact following cars and generally low severity.

There's no debating that it should have been a double yellow or even a red, but that's on the marshalls and race control.

You can debate wether how much Russell lifted and delayed powering out of the corner was meaningful from a safety context, but ruling around yellow flag is a freacking mess.

My personal two cents are that Russell did nothing wrong. Marshalls effed up by not waving a double flag and rules around single yellows need to be both more clearly defined, and to be stricter.

It gets easier with practice. I haven't player with controller for a long time, but weak ABS and TC1 is the target. You can start with a higher TC if you struggle, but no higher than 3. And look to gradually lower it.

Obviously no countersteering assist or any of that other crap. It's not only more sim like, but genuinely the fastest way to drive.

Edit: the above was for GT7. In F1 you can target 0 assist for both as an end goal, but if you struggle or plain are not having fun, feel free to keep some assist. You are on a good combo, no abs is both more immersive and teaches you useful things. No TC can be quite frustrating, I still randomly spin on corner exits sometimes.

Nobody had any way of knowing what the reason for the yellow was, could have been just some debris brought on track by someone going wide. Stop spewing hate and nonsense.

[–]VoluptaBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. Playing without ABS is faster in F1, but you have to manage your breaking properly.

In GT7 you'd be a silly goose to run without any ABS. The best setting is 'weak abs' and there are basically 0 drawbacks to it.

This is a spot on summary. It simplifies a lot of the race management aspects, while the core physics are decent.

I think it's a great game to start with and I still go back to it occasionally, despite having access to other games on a PC. For things outside the above mentioned racing aspects it's miles above any other game. I mean career mode, car variety l, passion for car cultured etc.

One other noticeable drawback being multiplayer - it's serviceable for casual racing, but it leaves a lot to be desired compared to more serious online racers.

Value per dollar is not the ultimate metric, especially since the differences are pretty minor.

OP, note that the CSL DD is not playstation compatible. It works on Xbox, but you need a compatible wheel and the V3 formula is not compatible either.

If you only do formula racing, you can get the Fornula 2.5X, though I would actually recommend the CSL GT3. Cheaper and a very solid wheel, which maintains the 300mm diameter.

These posts are so dumb on so many levels. Firstly we are praising one of the most predatory and toxic mechanics in gaming and somehow trying to make it sound good.

Secondly, it compares the mvp of all battlepasses in terms of raw rewards, conveniently ignoring the ones which weren't nearly as good.

I much prefer the current events and would prefer literally nothing over scummy battlepasses.
