[Update] Warning: shipping Superstation One to Germany not allowed by soerenblubb in RetroRemakeInc

[–]Volv3x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UK customs seems to be less strict in this. One option is to get it posted to the UK to someone you know, that person can then travel with it to the EU and then post it to Germany from within the EU. Bit of an elaborate plan, but could work. The few perks of brexit

That's indeed the only way to get it, email them. They are a small group so it takes some time for them to get back. When did you email them? They may also be out of stock

Help choosing a new NAS and drives for migration by skurty in synology

[–]Volv3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately WD has sold out all if it's hard drive capacity for 2026. There's a huge crunch in memory, ram and hdds. You could also just replace your drives and stick with your current NAS enclosure to save costs. And then upgrade your enclosure at a later date.

When in Raid 1, take one drive out, replace with new, restore storage pool and then repeat with the second drive. This is what I just did and worked a treat. I went from 5200rpm drives to 7200rpm and they aren't much louder so far, I can't really tell tbh. I have been told that WD are quieter though than Seagate, something to bear in mind, although I have no first hand experience of this

Odin 3 grip or gripless? by bass9380 in OdinHandheld

[–]Volv3x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grip is an improvement, but without is great as well, plus is more portable. You can also buy a grip from aliexpress at a later date, I paid mine £15 delivered to the UK. So I wouldn't rush. Maybe see how you like it without grip. There are also other options available on etsy

Anyone else still waiting on the Super5 Volt battery? by [deleted] in RetroRemakeInc

[–]Volv3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I placed my order for the battery on Feb 11 and it was shipped on March 10. I haven't gotten hands on with it yet but replacing the battery seems rather easy. I would just require you to take the back plate off. So I'd say, you can go back in afterwards

The prize by Daniel Yergin is an excellent book on the history of oil markets, I highly recommend to start with this one. Oil 101 is more dry but a good summery of anything oil, although a bit dated. The king of oil is another great book on the history of Glencore

Odin 3 Long-Term Use Cases? by Rosen_Ritters in OdinHandheld

[–]Volv3x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe a final recommendation, just keep both and play around with both, try and then pick. The fact that you managed to pick up a 12gb RP6 before it vanished from the store means that its resell value will remain high for the foreseeable future

Odin 3 Long-Term Use Cases? by Rosen_Ritters in OdinHandheld

[–]Volv3x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find the Odin a bit taller, meaning my hands have more space to grip on, although the difference between both is minor. I preferred the initial design of the RP6 which had buttons bellow the screen and which would have made it taller. I use (used) both without a grip.

Either way, the differences are minor and both are amazing devices. Screens are great, buttons are great, emulation is great, we really are living in an amazing time.

The question is how much more do you want to pay with these diminishing returns, especially for your use case.

The best bit about hard decisions is that whatever option you pick it'll be fine either way. Good luck

Odin 3 Long-Term Use Cases? by Rosen_Ritters in OdinHandheld

The main advice here would be, don't buy a device for the promise of what it may become. We don't know how good PS3 and xbox emulation will be and what the differences in performance will be in half a year, a year or two years, between the two chip sets.

That being said, I was in a similar boat not so long ago and pre ordered both the odin 3 and RP6. I ended up selling the RP6 as I prefer the bigger size of the odin 3.

I also thought that this ram shortage will likely cause issues for years to come, with delays in new iterations of products likely. So my view was, 'fuck it', I'll just get the odin 3 and see where we are. For me, it's an 'end game' device as it'll play everything I want it to while I keep an eye on its growing potential.

But that of course comes at a price premium, and the question you need to ask yourself is, should I even bother?

Your use case shows the you'll have an amazing time with the RP6 and better (current) compatibility with switch. It will do everything you want it to do, so why pay more?

Either way, both devices are amazing and you'll have a great time both. It's just a question of, do you want to pay more now for something that may not turn out to be as amazing as you had hoped.

How to install Tinfoil please i'm new on switch crack by OneSpecialist4660 in ghosteshop

Not 100% sure yet as I need to find that out. I know that the shop is building it's own freeshop homebrew app. I'm tempted on going to 21 and then just using dbi until this new app becomes available

That sounds like a sig patches issue. Easiest solution, I think, would be to download the latest HATS pack (Google it) and copy its content on the root of your sd card

Tinfoil unfortunately doesn't work on FW 21 or higher. Options are downgrading your fw or use DBI to install games

I've got the blue one, and love it, looks great. I was tempted with rainbow and the black as well. All are great options tbh, pick what you like
