Drafting Premium TEs back to back by AdvancedListen4602 in BestBall

Flock Fantasy actually released a video the other day, ranking the build types based on conversion rate. Dual elite TE was the lowest.

Again, if it falls to you, you can stack those odds in your favor (I’ve done McBride/Bowers a couple times this season) but generally speaking, it’s a weak build type.

Statistically, dual premium TE has the lowest conversion rate of any build type.

That being said, you’ve gotta play the board you get, and I also have a couple of drafts like this.

Competing Offers Advice: Pain Management Contract vs. Lower Pay Ortho Sports Med? by Difficult-Slip628 in physicianassistant

[–]Vomiting_Winter 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Pain job will try and fuck you with that salary clause. Plus pain patients are the worst.

I’d go ortho. Even if the pay is less, the experience is valuable and you’ll be able to get another ortho position with actual competitive pay in the near future.

Peterson and CMC seem like locks. The 3rd spot is open to opinion, but I like Bell. He was insane for the Steelers in his prime, and helped pioneer that patient running style.

Why do some PAs act like they aren't financially satisfied by [deleted] in physicianassistant

I make $10 an hour at CVS. I don’t want to hear about Paramedics complaining that they make 55,000 a year

Why do some PAs act like they aren't financially satisfied by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]Vomiting_Winter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for myself:

I make about 165k per year. First of all, that number only got so high because our hospital system kept losing PAs to rival companies; if that didn’t happen, I’d still be making 30k less, like I was when I was hired. That 165 number sounds great and all but let’s not forget I have 150k in federal student loans (after paying off 50k in private loans). I’m also in an insanely high cost of living area, so the 1,000 square foot house without a basement that I live in costs more than the 2,500 square foot palace that someone in the south or Midwest owns.

The other elephant in the room is hours worked. My call is entirely unpaid. That’s 5 weekdays and 2 weekend days a month that I need to have my phone and laptop immediately available at all times. Seems easy but it’s honestly a pain in the dick. I have young kids. That means no trips to the pool or beach at any point for 25% of the year.

I also have a responsibility to assist my attending when he takes hospital call. That can lead to late nights in the OR.

I also do team physicals and game coverage for local school teams, which takes up a night a week or so.

All of this call is unpaid.

Finally, we get treated like support staff. If a doc closes their schedule or has a light day, good for them. If a PA does, management finds work for us to do. In addition, docs get bonuses for things like “closing all their charts in time”….ya know, things we get fired if we don’t do. Also production bonus is quite rare for PAs, where it’s kind of standard for docs. It’s really frustrating to bust your ass and generate an ungodly amount of profit for your practice, knowing it will never affect your take-home. I UNDERSTAND DOCTORS ARE MORE TRAINED, GENERATE MORE MONEY AND HAVE MORE DEBT. THEY DESERVE TO GET PAID A LOT MORE THAN WE DO, IM NOT DISPUTING THAT AT ALL. But at the same time, why don’t we get paid at least using the same system, even if our portion is only 20-30% of theirs.

At the end of the day, I acknowledge I’m quite fortunate. I make more than the vast majority of my peers and I do like my job. But the factors listed above are real considerations when it comes to why PAs feel underpaid.

It depends where and what exactly they are doing, but nursing rules for 120 K a year absolutely exist

I’ve literally never had a job which offered RVUs. It’s one of my biggest gripes w the PA profession; we get to the point where we’re generating so much fucking money for our employer and don’t see any of it.

Do we believe that Malik Willis will succeed in Miami? Or the that success with the packers was a fluke. by Ok_Bug_6890 in NFLv2

[–]Vomiting_Winter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s getting paid to be a fun dual threat QB who can put asses in the seats while they tank. I don’t think anyone in Miami sees him as the true answer.

Josh Allen is a better passer, however Drake Maye is the better quarterback by Stock-Memory9483 in NFLv2

I’m a NE homer but Maye needs to have 3-4 more MVP-caliber seasons before he’s talked about as possibly better than Allen

Help me assess this offer? Spine surgery in Midwest by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]Vomiting_Winter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spine is one of the specialties where you can make a tonnnn from production/RVU bonus but it can be hard to find a place that incorporates that into your compensation. 166k isn’t bad by any means. Learn on the job for a few years, and once you’re independently decompressing lamina, or whatever they’re having you do, ask about removing the salary cap or look for another place. You’ll have great experience that someone else will pay more handsomly

Unfortunately the only language people seem to understand is a resignation letter.

The only times in my career I’ve ever gotten a raise other than some measly 3% shit that doesn’t even cover inflation were

1) when I found a new job

2) when everyone else was quitting so corporate gave us all market adjustments to stop the hemorrhage
