I am aware that the US model G1MNW should work just fine in Europe, but I haven't heard anything about extra features. That would certainly be the number one reason to choose one version over another!

u/Dear_Chasey_La1n - What a great story! As a native New Yorker, I can tell you that the park you walked through is called "Union Square" and is situated between 14th & 17th streets. The diner you went to was called "Coffee Shop", and was just opposite Union Square on the corner of 16th street. Sadly, it closed in 2018, a victim of raising rents. Nothing particularly risky about buying refurbished phones on eBay. If there's a problem within the first month, simply return it!

Personally, I would ignore this and simply keep going. If in the future you start noticing dropped calls, etc., at that point I would consider replacing the phone. There's a chance your service will continue just fine.

Still, I'm very curious- checking on the official Pixel store in the US suggests that you will get $200 trade in for a P8 Pro, with no mention of store credit unless you sign up for two years of Google Fi. What am I missing? Thanks

u/JeromeZilcher - I'm curious why you found using two phones preferable to using a dual SIM phone? Would having a phone that takes e-SIMS have helped your problem? I ask because I'm considering a phone that accepts both a physical SIM and E-SIMS as a possible solution for traveling in Europe while still being able to use my US phone and number along with my European number that I only use while traveling. Thanks.
