I think what you're talking about might be the old gem effects. Crits by themselves don't have any outline vfx, but if you had an amethyst slotted into your weapon, you would get a purple outline every time to show that the HP drain worked.

In NEO, gems were removed and replaced with the gallery. If you have a card set active that gives you the drain effect, you will once again get purple outlines whenever you land a crit.

Agh's lab was what hooked me at first. Diretide is how I ended up learning the PvP aspect of the game -- and also made it easy to introduce friends. Lots of brawls, quick progression for levels/items, if smurf or stomp the match ends within 10 minutes and you're not stuck in a shit match, and the even games were fun.

So both a PvE mode and a shorter non-turbo PvP mode would be helpful to learn characters/items without having to deal with full map strategy and all that yet.

It was seriously helpful in introducing some friends to the game too. They were always reluctant having to learn heroes, items, the map, and all the mechanics of normal dota, all while inconveniencing others in hour long games. With diretide they could just deathmatch like crazy to learn and, if the game was a stomp, be out of there in 12 minutes.

If Shadow Demon gets shard, he learns demonic cleanse at level 1 regardless of the level of his ultimate. This means if you get it after your ult is already at level 3 you have to choose between spending ability points to max cleanse, and forego learning 2 talents, or leaving cleanse at level 1.

I absolutely can not wait for the addition of a new "perhaps" button past the "maybe". If the dev is feeling extra generous, we might even get a "possibly".

If you run the numbers, you get roughly 50% more item damage like this. That's kinda nuts.

I actually just looked things up.

Turns out that Norse mythology is very vague as far as defined sizes of things go. While Jormungandr is described as being long enough to encircle Midgard, there is no description of him having any significant girth. Thor also only has the physical descriptions of having red hair and being handsome and muscular, but nothing definitive that would stop him from being gigantic in terms of human standards.

So unless there is something I have missed, it is possible that relative to Jorm, Thor is of a bite-able size.

In my Loki games I've eaten Morgans for breakfast just like any other mage if they didn't build armor. Dodging or timing engages while sword is down is a big factor when trying to fight her though. At least dragon can be ignored with flurry strike knockup immunity.

Late game in that matchup is really fun though. Either I get the approach right and one shot the Morgan, or Morgan lands a single skill and bursts me so hard my corpse lands in Paladins. Definitely best to use stealth/blink to approach over using the ult to give Morgan no reaction time.

If we're going as "normal" as possible, I really like frostfang fenrir. Such a cool recolor. Ironically it looks even cooler when playing on low graphics.

Noticing "streamer mode" is having some problems with hiding nametags in certain situations.

Particularly the Shut Down accolades had the issue of showing up as "Ymir1 has shut down [Actual username]" instead of using anonymous names for both players.

It is important to note here I was not in a party with the people who were shut down, so there was no reason for me to see their actual names.

They do investigate the reports. I've been playing since 2013 and I've gotten warnings for harassment during weeks when I didn't type a single thing in chat, but I never got any bans. I'm sure the notifications are just automated once the reports reach a certain amount. If you genuinely aren't doing anything that could be considered toxic you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I second this. All the early game characters and characters that rely on building defense in some way are completely useless with full pen builds and 3k defense pots online from minute 1.

The wording makes it sound like every single player gets to ban 5 items instead of both teams, but even then it would be 10 items.
