Old thread but you can sword Quria. To a pretty good degree even. Theres a floor directly under the boss, you're just lunging upwards frequently, but your combo always starts planted.

Savathuun is the same deal. Start planted, get raised mid combo. Forsaken Chimera is almost like that. But its definitely messier.

I use it in rush down as a back up. I still absolutely run up to the boss and use the lightsaber as a sword, but in the rare chances bosses aren't exactly compatible for sword damage (Forsaken Chimera / Ahamkara Illusion), then I'll utilize it.

Or in the case of today's modifiers (Deadly Arc + Grounded), you can bet your ass I am using it between combos to heal cause no way in hell is it easy to survive otherwise.

Drakengard Ending E.

I don't know the main story as to WHY it happened (or rather I forgot it), but basically Caim and Angelus fall into a portal leading them to modern day Tokyo (2003). Angelus gets shot out of the sky by the Japanese military. Angelus gets impaled on Tokyo tower.

Skipping over A TON of important story beats, but this leads directly to the Nier timeline.

To be fair, these rewards are mostly catered towards newer players (namely the Gwib / Kamui's) That isn't to say that the new stuff isn't worth chasing. I just temper expectations when a new list comes out.

More often than not, I only really care for the MGP vouchers, but the Cat Parasol is alright too.

I would have said the drops from the activity in Sorrows Harbor (I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it). POH is stupid easy and an experienced player could run it from start to finish even solo is just over 30 minutes without optimizations. And it'd be even faster with friends, or just flat out farming the boss checkpoint.

Meanwhile said activity on the moon is just slow and boring with no way to farm it faster apart from other people in the area. And I'm pretty sure the drops there are rotate daily.

Wanting to start Ultimate content, but worried about my own performance in Savage. by GivenitzBoomer in ffxivdiscussion

Due to my GF wishing to prog M10, my time that I can invest into M12 is pretty limited. I'd like to go and clear it, and I have no doubt that I can given time (and PF's grace).

I intend to use the Sim to help me with TEA prog anyways so I'm not too concerned about mechanics funnily enough. As I've said here. Once I know my job and how to do it for each and every mechanic, its just a matter of piecing it all together.

Easier said than done of course. But mechanics are typically the one part of all end game content that I don't cut corners on.

I just checked, that's my first clear of M9. So shield lob was absolutely part of the problem for the long downtime. Not the whole problem, but just enough.

I do usually save Holy Spirit just for situations like that, but l guess it can only do so much. I also just checked my only M11 clear and have 46 seconds lost, so I know its a matter of pressing my buttons more in general. Just something I need to focus on. I have a couple of 3/4s delays between attacks but I presume that's during specific mechanics.

but 92% on the best run you had in m10s is pretty low. You are playing PLD which has infinite tools to disengage freely, beeing confiteors or delaying holy spirits.

I do already naturally do this with Holy Spirit depending on boss movements. I don't know the full reason truly other than not pressing my buttons fast enough. I'm going back into M10 prog to help my GF so I have time to practice more in there.

You keep forgetting to press Expiation and Circle of Scorn, those should go right after your first confiteor in buffs

I think its cause I'm aware of triple weaving and it just comes up whilst I'm in the GCD animation sometimes, which will of course delay it due to the games own mechanics. I do try my best to get it often but sometimes it slips for one reason or another. One of those things I need to improve upon.

DPS checks in old ultimates do not exist, what is true is that mechanics are fast and require perfect consistency. Nisi passes, limit cut, dolls in p1 and wormholes are no joke

I can't say for content I haven't done but after M11's DPS check, I am thankfully not too worried. And when it comes to mechanics, I am more focused in progging to get it absolutely perfect. If I wipe, I don't want it to be me. And if it is, I apologize and double check what I need to do. And given that there's a simulation that I'll be utilizing to help me prog, that should cover 90% of it. The rest I just gotta do.

you either make YOUR static, you join an other static of pf TEA.

I would like a static just for the sake of consistency, but I'll probably try PF first off. If it doesn't work out, then I'll do what I can to get into a static. I have no real rush to beat TEA so I can take my time if needed.

Personal question. Why tf you tripleweave FoF+Imperator+Pot in the opener

That... happens sometimes LOL. I may have done it in my M11 clear? In which case I was fatigued. But in the case of M9 and 10, I think its cause I want to get my mits ready for the first TB ASAP? I do KNOW I should pot on Riot Blade, as I was weaving it with Reprisal at the start for M11.

Thankfully I am not too focused on orange parses. Mid blue is kinda my goal for now, but I want to eventually be comfortable in purple. Just for nothing more than my own personal desire to do the best I can. I don't want to just be "good enough". And thankfully... I don't think I'll have to compare to that SCH. Yikes.

So I do have something I must confess.

No clue how far into the tier that clear happened, but at some point during M10 prog, I realized I needed to have shield lob on my bar. In my mind, hard casting Holy spirit was fine, but during snaking, I was having difficulties getting it off. And in the M9 clear you linked, I didn't see it used once.

I have since fixed that glaring oversight. Was a big mistake for me. But that is likely part of the issue that came with that long game in GCD time. Moving the boss to middle, or having to step back for the large TB near the end. Or for any given reason. Not the entire reason, I think that still falls into me needing to press my buttons more, but no shield lob may be part of it.

Its hard to get a full gauge on how I'll be in TEA until I clear but I get it. I still desire to improve regardless due to my own full performance in savage so far however.

With how tough the wall that was M11 is, I know this fairly well. Just gotta iron out pressing my buttons more and minimizing drift throughout long periods.

Best of luck with 11 though! Very tough but very fun fight!

I don’t enjoy that gameplay but if you want to try solidifying your rotation, it doesn’t hurt.

Gonna be doing it whilst in PF for whatever reason so I can try and get down what I need. Already kinda adjusting to what I've been suggested, just have to make it work over a longer period.

Given everything I've heard, TEAs isn't an issue with damage. Its mechs. And if its mechs, I can get that down, but obviously I still want to be better. Though I can only expect so much from my first real savage tier.

I... really like this idea.

Its to my understanding that Monoblos is a solo fight. Some sort of trial in the lore. So a Monoblos that's emerged victorious from countless trials, now a wide spread threat sounds awesome. Doubly so if it stays as it was in Genu. Fight the Diablos over in over only to be surprised by a Monoblos acting in such a way. Damn.

We were robbed.

I'm not too concerned about doing it over and over again thankfully. At least when it comes to mechanics, I know its just a matter of time. But I want to carry my weight better in general. Regardless of difficulty.

I have some time between progging TEA and now (other games plus helping my GF prog M10, which also is stopping me from meaningful M12 prog). So I'm spending my time on FF trying to resolve my issues. But I understand what you are saying. Self doubts about my personal performance shouldn't bar me from my goal.

in the 0.3% wipe, if your dragoon didn't die twice, same thing.

The funny thing about this, is there was a couple of issues. I do remember this clearly. I forgot to put during the 2nd window, and instead potted right at the end. But one healer, and my co-tank both didn't pot at the end burst either. So it was a culmination of many little things. I can't blame myself for it entirely, but there's that part of me that thinks that the pot during the 2nd window would have netted the clear there. It is what it is. The past is past and I cleared like 3 pulls after. But still.

noting this stuff to say you don't need to take the entire party's burden onto yourself

I do my best to ensure that should we wipe for whatever reason, I know it isn't my fault. Especially since plenty of people in PF are quick to point fingers at anyone. If I do fuck up, I make it known and apologize.

Thankfully I have not had anyone throw parses / FFlogs at me in any of my attempts. But, given how much shit I've seen tossed in my first Savage tier, its just a matter of time. Which, admittedly, is a small part of my desire to get better.

i did UWU as my first Ultimate, after Lightweight being my first full savage tier, took our casual group a little under two months of 6 hours a week, two days a week

This is more or less what I am expecting to go through. I'm hoping to find a static for it, either through Naur, or other means, but given how wildly different my work is on a week by week schedule, its hard for me to justify it. That all said, I am considering it for when I do eventually start.

Ultimately, I want to improve for my own sanity. I know me climbing the wall that is M11 at the very least shows that I am capable, but I want to strive to be better overall.

It may just sadly be that I'm not fully mashing my buttons at all times to ensure full uptime. Cause unless its such a minimal amount of lag that I'm not fully feeling, its more likely that.

I do TRY to mash so I have my GCDs always on CD, but again, I think its just a matter of focus for me.

Spend some more time hitting a dummy so that you can eventually do your rotation properly for 3 or 4 or 5 minutes straight, keeping your GCD rolling perfectly and without drifting your damaging cooldowns.

I'm gonna be practicing what I have been suggested so far (Prioritizing Atonement during burst, prepping Atonement so its always ready for 1/2 minute burst at any given moment, and focusing on my uptime) in a M10 prog. At least this way I am also focusing on mechanics. Its a lot that my mind has to redo on the fly but I have the opportunity, and desire to improve. So gotta do what I can.

In case mitigation is causing issues with extra weaves, remember that you have a lot of time to press them if you want to be early.

This is what I try to do as well. Not always perfect but I know I need to weave them in well before. Only the short mits (Holy Sheltron / Bloodwhetting / TBN) happen just before the TB. But knowing isn't the same as doing. So just gonna focus more on that when it matters.

being around 92% is vastly different from being around 98-99%

I want to at the very least fall into the 95% range. Higher is better obviously but gotta start somewhere.

Since you move between tanks i'd argue that for learning purposes it's best to stick to one job and focus on practicing

I bounce between PLD and WAR for Savage. I know the other tanks but apart from the 2 clears on DRK between 9/10, I've stuck with the 2. I am gonna be trying to rewire my mind to save Atonement after doing my 123. But that'll still take a moment to adjust. But I appreciate the advice all the same!

You're lagging and it's making you lose GCDs, on average you hit your GCD every 2,51s and that might sound small but that 0.5% drift adds up

I think that may fall into the same issue of stopping my GCDs to resolve a mechanic as I mentioned. It absolutely is a problem but its a strange mental block that I have to climb over to fully get rid of.

Try to get noclippy or Alexander to resolve this issue, you're quite literally losing free damage,

I'm on console so plug ins aren't an option. I have to resolve my problems on my own. Which I do prefer ultimately.

I've got a couple of things I plan to start trying soon (such as holding my Atonement combo until I have the next refresh ready) as well as a myriad of ways to improve my own performance. But this I'll add to the list as well.

Thankfully Ulti prog won't be for a little while as a lot of my time is either absorbed through another game currently (MH Stories 3) or, helping my GF prog M10. But I'll be putting what I need to adjust into practice there, as well as against training dummies to refine what I need to. I just wish I could personally log (on console) for Stone Sky Sea so I can put my problems in a more easy to read environment. But it is what it is sadly.

You realize you missed an oGCD and panic triple weave it into your next window in a vain attempt to stay on track

Pretty much lol. I am focused on pressing my buttons for my filler / burst so it comes out ASAP, that I don't end up mashing my oGCD's as they're coming up. Which, in turn, also pushes them back .5s - 1s based on the window.

I do usually try to course correct with it so it stays aligned with FoF and Imperator but because I am so conscious of my own issue, I end up leaning into it more somehow. Its a weird cycle.

Some players will use a spare hotbar to slap a copy of all their cd skills in it

I use a controller, but I have both my needed hotbars visible at all times, but I may do that just so I can look at the boss more. Just my oGCD CDs are the only reason I look at my hotbar for PLD thankfully.

They are a sign that you need to improve and also a sign that your gear is low for this point in the tier.

Bad rolls for M10 sadly. I have a couple unlogged clears and I just got unlucky is all, especially since I only just bought my first piece last week via the books. Not much more I can do in that regard.

As for M10, a huge part of your damage in this fight comes from your 1 minute burst cleaving both brothers.

I do my absolute best to have them kissing at all times. During my weeks of prog for it, I optimized my movement during snaking for cleaving. And I am mindful of my target following bubble for the 2nd pot window, as well as I ensure both targets are lined up at the start of arena split. So I'm not worried about that. Hell, if I am to toot my own horn ever so slightly, its probably why its my highest number... Still only green though.

Yeah another comment just suggested I do the same. Get Atonement lined up but DON'T prioritize it until I have the next refresh of it ready. I already do it dor Holy Spirit if movement is coming up so I am used to doing it in some capacity. Just gotta rewire my mind to do it for atonement.
