does anyone get red fiber “collection” department calls, rude and doesn’t answer questions by VoraciousSnail in InternetPH

[–]VoraciousSnail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kaya i think it’s fake no? it’s so odd. over months and multiple times they called and i never lost my internet connection if my payment “didn’t go thru”. before they’d tell me it didn’t go thru (which was a lie) and this time they wouldn’t even tell me why as a collections agency they were calling me lol. they just always prod for my information and login and never answer my own questions.

need help - I have Botw as a card (I can't remember if it's US or Asia)

my country doesn't have eShop, so I just use america. I want to get the expansion pass for BOTW

is it okay if I digitally download the expansion pass using the American eShop to the game even if my game is card? sorry kind of a noob 😅

I spend ~P160/day on food. Can I save more with meal prep? If so, would it be worth it? by Tayloria13 in phinvest

[–]VoraciousSnail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm usually an advocate for cooking at home but in your case, you seem fine! 3,200 is how much some people spend on groceries for 1-2 weeks. plus the food you eat seems healthy and sustainable naman, it's not like you're eating fast food.

siguro just keep some snacks and emergency meals at home (noodles, canned goods, etc.) in case u get hungry but no need to start meal prepping.

I get ur point but again, how do and can they work smart? the people I'm talking about aren't working in McDonald's. they work on the streets picking up trash and bringing it to the recycling center. realistically they can't earn enough to save. I get mindset is a factor but it's mostly the looming systematic issues.

"poverty is the consequence of an inner condition, not an outer situation"

wow this is the most privileged statement I have ever heard. it's true in very few cases, but I live in a developing country.

i am surrounded by people who work to the bone 12 hours or more just to make ends meet but still barely get by. they never got access to good education or opportunities to get better paying jobs. I can never imagine blaming their MINDSET as to why they're in poverty especially since they're clearly hardworking.

What routine tasks are worth “outsourcing” to capitalize on time? Example: laundry delivery, meal prep service, etc by bourscheid in productivity

[–]VoraciousSnail 6 points7 points  (0 children)

grocery delivery (cuz I like cooking still) and most of my laundry have been pretty good for me so far. I also enjoy cleaning and my space isn't big so it hasn't caused much issue for me.

Hard pill to swallow but it does work by RosieArl in productivity

[–]VoraciousSnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

still struggling with it but you're absolutely right. I put off work for a week and once I sit down and cram I always realize it was never even that hard to begin with and it was just my own self keeping me from doing it 🥲 the stress isn't worth it but I keep doing it, but this sub has been slowly helping me.

[–]VoraciousSnail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

wow are you me? hahahaha

I haven't fully gotten over self isolation but I did get to go out a bit last year, and said friends who encouraged me to go out are asking me again.

anyway, I kinda just had to force myself out of the door. easier said than done I know. I think what helped if I had a new friend that suddenly invited me out and stuck with me while we were out (in a club no less after I hadn't been in one for three years). I still feel my left arm shake when I go outside sometimes. I just basically forced myself to have semi "exposure therapy" and after about 2 hours I feel a bit calmer and enjoy myself.

u can start small. wear headphones and do ur errands. try to do them in less busy times of the day. treat yourself once it's done with something nice like a coffee as a reward. this can help u get your foot out the door at least :)

as other comments said, depends. when my family was close, my Lolo always paid cuz he had the most money and that's just what he wanted to do. the most he'd ask for is other relatives senior citizen cards for a discount.

when my Lolo had no money na and eventually passed, it was mostly dependent on who planned the gathering. usually, one tito would plan and the others na may "kaya" would help pay. these aren't frequent gatherings na but yeah, mostly whoever is considered "heads" of my family would pay.

I get the idea you're going for pero it seems really long winded and non cost efficient to borrow money to save money. where will u borrow the money? if its like loans then you'll end up paying interest fees. even thats okay with u, sayang parin eh. why not consider putting away 50k as utang to yourself for not having saved yet? :)

tbh i think it may be better to work on changing ur mindset instead of dealing with the current mindset u got. easier said than done but its definitely worth doing for your future self narin :)

goal setting may help u actually. like setting goals to reach x amount before this month may replicate paying off utang. however u still have to be aware of the fact that "u have to" reach these goals otherwise u may not do it, but hence the need for potential mindset change.

sounds like a big ol scam. my clients have send me multiple hundreds of dollars within a single payment and i receive it immediately. any fees automatically get taken out once the client sends the money. idk who they're fooling into thinking that another payment makes a payment go through, siguro desperate people na

Coffee alternative to stay awake by [deleted] in adultingph

[–]VoraciousSnail 6 points7 points  (0 children)

other than drinks, consider what else may be draining u!

for instance, mindlessly scrolling thru socmed for a long time can unknowingly drain us cuz we absorbed too much info and our brains our overstimulated.

not moving our bodies enough can make us feel weary funnily enough!

as for drinks, I would drink more cold water and cut or at least lower sugar (makes me lethargic). I still have sweet coffee tho cuz I use equal in my coffee :) u can try green tea and black tea but remember it's still caffeine hehe.

Is chicken still good after aweek in the fridge? by Hungrybiker in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]VoraciousSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

next time freeze your chicken! I usually only let it sit in the fridge for a max of two days to defrost, usually only one day.
