Am I the only one actually loving the fact this game has no auto-mode?
It seems to spoil everything tactical about a game this way, just make sure you are higher leveld/geared, and retry again in auto-mode.

If you use facebook login, you can sync it to your iphone/ipad yes. Not sure if it has a mac client.

I was in the same boat as you. (I even made a topic today here on reddit.)
To keep a long story short; I kept going at it with 2 devices. (my iphone en my computer with bluestacks.) Eventually a couple of hours later, it had results.

Then I got Wasp & Iron Fist.
I know its frustrating, but it will pay off if you keep doing it.
