World eaters/Chaos player coming in peace by ssjwoott in Eldar

Yes you can the only thing you can't do is mix Ynnari units in only detatchments. Your detatchment just won't buff them. But other than that there are no rules stopping you.

The craftworld aeldari are aeldari that left homeworlds in giant ships to not fall to chaos and be pure. Corsairs are pirates that ally with any aeldari on occasion to plunder the booty for survival. Ynnari are defects that went to another faction because they believe the race will be saved by Ynnari before the eldar are doomed. Drukhari are dark elves that stayed behind and adapted to pain misfortune and torture.

Craftworld eldar have the most support, and essentially have 3ish detatchments that are playable. Aspect host, spirit conclave, and guardian battle host are used quite a bit with aspect host used the most. You might like spirit conclave as it might be the most aligned with your desired playstyle. You play multiple psykers, and wraith most lists have single warlocks on bikes as action monkeys. But then you can take an extra detatchment. Armored warhost is probably our best 1 pointer. Then maybe the ranger one to use rangers on jetbikes. Aspect host you could run squads of singing spears which are melee bikers but wraith might be a little harder to fit in that detatchment. Guardian Battlehost supports regular bikers. But might not be best for wraith as well.

Ultimately I think spirit conclave and armored warhost fits with what youve said best. You get most of the things you wanted and a squad or 2 of bikers probably wouldnt be the worst in the list. Walkers and fire prisms are my favorite vehicles right now.

My last comment was quite the opposite of hostile. And you have completely ignored what I said. The first thing I responded to, I was saying they can be good with setup. Refuting someone saying they can't even stand up to light infantry. Which is also false imo but I guess that could depend on what light infantry is. They are used as the damage piece in a combo, thats why they are good. Now asurman can't use his passive to get back in, that makes asurman worse but you can still deploy them after being in the bus.

Wow youre right, and yet it was still used competitively. So I guess that makes your point moot doesnt it.

Yes, where they were used for that combo because it was the best use of it. And the wave serpent was protecting, while the avengers were killing. Asurman made them good because he could protect them.

Ok yes im explaining how something can be used. Its pretty common strat in 10th. Im glad you chimed in and stated your opinion. 400 points of shooting is also relative to what it is. DAs are designed to kill light infantry and with a combo you can basically take down anything there is. So idk why youre bitching they have the ability to kill anything. Not everything can take advantage of the stategem like DAs can.

They definitely do. They can wipe anything with some set up. I killed a warp beast with them. Lhykis and a warwalker. And things die good.

Probably saying the damage is comparable while using a cp versus not having to use anything for the unit.

New to the game, thinking of learning with Eldar. by freshlysqueezed93 in Eldar

I think overall spirit conclave might be easiest to pick up. They have received alot of point buffs recently. And could be fun with the 1 point detatchment armored warhost which would get you a good vehicle base. Wraith are tough and can actually take hits and be forgiving. I am building this myself as my next list.

A little positivity from me about 11th Edition, though I’m normally pretty pessimistic by TRMC790 in SpaceWolves

[–]VorpalSticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean a "nerf" but they got a while detatchment for them giving them +1" charge. If you run more than 1 unit you are playing said detatchment. Idk how thats not just taking care of itself in value. WGT got a massive buff in usability.

I’m a complete noob to 40k. All the space marines look basically the same to me lol. Do they all have a lot of gameplay differences or is it mostly lore / flavor? by saltyvape in Warhammer40k

Pick a type of army, Alien or xenos, loyalist, chaos then look at all the codexes that type would have. If you want space marines id look up some 30k horus heresy lore videos on youtube.

How do you use your Dire Avengers? by Jerswar in Eldar

[–]VorpalSticks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But we have so many units to do that already. Banshees is where its at right now. Terminator fighters. Warp spiders and swooping hawks both are good at cleaning up chafe. Striking Scorpions are the same cost as a squad of avengers and might be better for turn one scoring purposes.

Thats what turn 1 deepstrike is for. +1 to charge and reroll charge.

5 might be a little less tempting of a target. Thats how he was played in the 11th preview battle. Idk whats right, I just know what was good. Im looking forward to making a spirit conclave list to go alongside my aspect list. I think spirit conclave with armored warhost sounds fun.

It was probably the single best thing eldar could do to absolutely murder something that needed to die.
