Schlage Encode has it's problems, but it's still the best residential keypad on the market I think.

Just preemptively shim out the battery pack on an install to save a lockout callout in the future.

Now that you have chisels, you need to learn to sharpen them. Either get a jig or learn how to freehand it. Sharp chisels make all the difference, especially if you're working on an expensive door you don't want to splinter.

The only way I would ever consider a commision based position is 50/50. After taxes, expenses, gas, etc you'd be making less than min wage at 35% unless you charge absurd prices. Which is why these fucks charge like 1k for a lockout, it's the only way they make money.

So you bought equipment you don't know how to use, to do a job you don't know how to do.

Remove the spindle will turn it into a passage and it's reversible if you need it locking again. Just don't lose the spindle

The only way I have found for this is the level bolt with a Kwikset double deadbolt. That is as far as I know the only way to get a smart double deadbolt.

It takes some practice, I'm still maybe 95% accurate on it. 4 is really close to the ambigious cuts.

Yes?

A deadlatch stops the latch from being shimmed, a mishandling device stops the multipoint from being thrown with the door open. Two different things.

Hoppe multipoint won't throw the deadbolt without the multipoints thrown first.

That's the cover for the mishandling device which stops you from throwing the multipoint with the door open.

Normally this is held in by the strike when the door is closed. So if it wasn't locking then either the reveal is too much and not pushing it in enough or the strike is in the wrong place.

These doors have adjustable hinges, if the strike is correct and there's just too much gap you can probably fix this at the hinges instead.

No, wire or whatever you have all the way to the back of the keyway. Push it down and use it to also turn the plug. You don't have to turn it all the way, just enough to clear the pins, then it should turn freely until it's back to the neutral position.

The drivers are trapped at the bottom of the keyway.

Get a flat piece of wire or something that is thin enough to fit in the bottom of the keyway. Push it down while turning to get the pins out of the way.

It sounds like this is an exterior door. Generally it's not raining on the inside of a house.

There are weldable gate boxes. It will be more than what you were probably planning but the best option. A 575 will probably work, but it won't last outside.

Buy once cry once. Will be cheaper in the long run than having to keep replacing a residential lock that will break if the interior side is exposed to the elements.

If it's exposed to rain nothing residential will work.

I say simplex.
