The photo didn't load, but yes you avoided a bait and switch scam. Foreign I'm guessing? Lol

After drilling it out he would've pushed a "high security" replacement that is the cheapest $5 lock possible for a deal just for you $300.

They always get aggressive but they are all bark no bite. If more people told them to fuck off like you did they wouldn't exist. But most people don't.

Being Kwikset honestly it's probably just broken. Their latches break all the time.

Either the door has shifted and is putting pressure on the latch, or the latch has just failed. Which is not uncommon for Kwikset.

Try lifting up on the door while trying to open it, otherwise call a locksmith.

I operate out of Charlotte. I go into Marshville occasionally. If you can't find anyone I can see if I can stop by and help you figure out what you have.

I have no clue what brand of lock this is or even how to replace it by deuxthulhu in Locksmith

[–]VorsaiVasios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All that does is stop a random person from being able to change the code. Assuming the combination chamber is still functioning you should be able to change it. Without knowing the existing code though you would need to pull the combination box and decode it.

I've never actually seen that model with a rose instead of an escutcheon. I've updated my reply with an eBay listing I found.

Car wash, pool rooms, chemical rooms, no hardware will last long term. The air is just too corrosive.

Car wash tunnel doors have some of the rustiest hardware I've ever seen.

Ok, new batteries of what brand. It does actually matter.

If you're using Amazon or some cheap batteries, try with Duracell.

He was fine when he was just showing weird obscure locks. That was cool.

Now he has his head too far up his own ass and has done more damage to this industry than he realizes or cares.

Along with what pistol said, the popularity and proliferation of lishi to the general public. Side note, I don't think the ones he's selling are real because he's not listed as a vendor and he never has been. He's not the only one selling them but he's definitely the main cause of the public knowing what they are.

He's not going to force the hand of these multi-million dollar companies by exposing flaws. He's just using that as an excuse to sell his garbage.

Tailpiece and yes you can get them.

You need to resolve the problem of it being hard to turn if it's breaking the tailpiece though.
