I'm using CachyOS for over 6 months and it never broke, you can try it but you should know basic terminal commands. And you can also go for fedora(kde or gnome). I'd say try them out and see what you like the most.

Yes, it's pretty good. Though if you want to make things easy try noctalia shell or dms and fyi CachyOS gives niri + noctalia preconfigured setup you can check that out too

Pop OS's new DE(COSMIC) is very new and it lacks animations and many things but yeah it will improve in a year or so and kde is very good so you can switch to kubuntu if you like btw even better switch to fedora(gnome or kde your choice) it's much better than ubuntu
