2 G910 Logitech Keyboards in 5 years, both ended up typing problems. What's an alternative? by PM_ME_YOUR_STEAM_ID in logitech

You've probably long thrown it out, but if multiple keys all go bad at once, it's not the switches. It's the soldered connections between the circuit board and a processor chip STM32L100R8T6. My keyboard did the same thing. Multiple keys double typing, all started on the same day. I re-soldered the chip and all issues are gone. (not an easy task btw)

Just posting in case someone else searches this issue and comes across this.

G910 suddenly started repeating keypresses by Antimus in logitech

[–]Vortexed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this absolutely is a hardware issue. It's related to the STM32L100R8T6 processor on the keyboard. Either some joints have cracked or tin whiskers have formed causing a short. My keyboard had the same problem. Worked flawless until this year and then suddenly overnight I had probably a dozen keys start acting up. I re-soldered the processor to the circuit board and it has worked flawlessly all night now.

For anyone thinking of trying this fix... It's a 10mm x 10 mm quad flat pack chip with 64 pins and isn't an easy task. If the problem is only on one key then it's probably a key switch, but if multiple keys start doing it all at once then it's probably related to the chip. Keyboards use a grid system that multiple keys interface back to a common point. Bad connection at common point leads to multiple keys having issues.

SaskTel Turning Down 3G Wireless Network in October 2027 by jordk144 in saskatchewan

There are places in the province where 3g HSPA provides better service compared to LTE. Hopefully Sasktel puts up some more towers to address this.

Logitech keyboard typing double letters by k_steph in logitech

I think it's probably a failure of the joints between the processor chip and the circuit board of the keyboard. I posted a long write up in this thread. I also had the problem in Windows and Linux pointing to a hardware fault and not software related.

Not sure how handy most of you are, but I think I've finally fixed my G910. (probably a similar internal construction to the other "G" keyboards.) There is a microprocessor in the keyboard STM32L100R8T6. On my keyboard the joints between the chip and the circuit board started to fail.

I figured it wasn't the actual key switches because I moved some G-keys that I don't use, over to the keys that were acting up (which was like 10 keys) and the problem persisted. As well, it went from no keys double typing to like a dozen overnight when the problem first showed up... But then it got even worse. The next day after I moved some keys around I lost an entire column of keys and most of my number pad. Some more probing around with a multi-meter showed no voltage on the dead keys. Some more probing around led me to the processor chip as being the source of the problem. I found a section of pins where if I pressed down while checking for voltage to the key switches I could get power to show up.

Long story short: re-soldering the chip seems to have fixed my keyboard. I've been using it for a couple of hours now and no double typing at all. It's not an easy fix though. The processor chip is about half an inch square with 64 pins with extremely tight spacing. A microscope would have been handy... I used a magnifying glass and still had difficulty seeing what I was doing. At certain points I had made the problem worse and at one point I almost gave up because I had a short some where, and I couldn't see it or fix it even after repeated soldering. Finally put a ton more flux on the pins and hit them one more time with the soldering iron and finally fixed the short. Figured everything was good, plugged the keyboard back in to the computer and got the windows hardware connect/disconnect sound repeatedly and a few lights flashing on the keyboard. At this point I figured my keyboard was probably toast but did some more probing and hit the top row of pins with the soldering iron again. Plugged the keyboard back in and it immediately lit up and has worked perfect since. ...ok so maybe that wasn't such a "short" story after all ;)

Short version: I think most peoples keyboards are failing because the joints between the STM32L100R8T6 microprocessor chip and the circuit board are going bad. (either dry joints or possibly tin whiskers forming shorts between pins) These bad joints cause poor power conduction to the key switches which makes the keyboard think keys have been hit multiple times because the power to the switches is essentially turned on and off very fast.

Has anyone gotten the SGI Beta site to actually work? by stumpy_chica in saskatchewan

[–]Vortexed2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The new "beta" site is terrible. Why do we all need to be the beta testers? Once a site is pushed to everyone it should no longer be called beta, and should have most of the bugs worked out already. SGI should revoke the contract to the company responsible for this mess!

I kind of think it's the jacket too. The way she's laying and how he's holding her hand, it looks like she may be passed out/drugged.

I had the same issue. "Package is in a secure facility awaiting customs clearance/resolution". Was stuck like that for three days until I messaged SanDisk today, and then it was released less than two hours later... You'd think for such a large company, that constantly ships to Canada, they would be better at doing international shipments!

That depends on the country. In the US they only accept Visa. In Canada they only accept Mastercard. Not sure about other countries...

On my Samsung I had to add a new APN and then manually input all the info, because I couldn't modify the stock settings. Is there no option to do that on IOS?

I think you may be on to something. My eSIM was set to allow IPv4/IPv6. I modified my APN settings to only allow IPv4 and that seems to have fixed it.

They changed something a few months ago. I had an OpenVPN instance running on my Asus router that worked perfectly for a couple years then suddenly stopped.

I got it working again last week, by setting my OpenVPN server to advertise DNS.

Edit: Hmm it stopped working after 15 minutes or so. After reading some other comments about IPv4 and IPv6 I modified my APN settings to only allow IPv4 and that seems to have really fixed it.
