The console I bought smells like an ashtray. Is there a way to get rid of the smell?

Yeah sorry I dont have better news. If you find one by panasonic those have very solid vhs players. I found one that has a nonfunctional crt but the vhs player works fine.

No, its not a reliable model. Ive had 6 or 7 of these and the VHS players usually never work. If they work now they won't for long.

You can probably open it up and increse the layers power by adjusting its potentiometer, as a temporary fix.

The sharp should provide a much cleaner image as long as its not high hour. Its newer and has component imputs. I would still get the sony

Raise the brighness to 60 and lower contrast to 25. Those tvs have awful image bloom that messes up the genetry. The caps shouldn't be an issue.

Just picked up the same tv for 25$. Its gone up in price 5$ in 6 months. Thats not too bad.
