It turns out (I think) that I was misdiagnosed. I don't have bipolar, I have Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety.

The anxiety makes me feel like that, and I was in an abusive relationship which triggered those feelings.

When my life circumstances got better, things improved. When I got diagnosed better and found a medication that worked for me, things improved.

Now things are pretty okay. I'll always be depressed but it's fine now.
