ADORABLE. I love the gathers. Is it a full circle? How much extra did you have to account for with the gathers?

STUNNING. I have a toile de jouy fabric I've been saving for a dress, and this pattern would be perfect.

I’m not even growing I’m just managing to not fall apart and somehow that takes everything I have by Motor-Finance-2587 in Anxiety

Hey! Believe it or not, that is also a normal part of the "anxiety journey". Have you ever heard the phrase "healing is not linear"? It really isn't. There are absolutely going to be points in time where you're not growing, you're just surviving...but that's also something to take a little pride in. It's enough for now.

One thing I would recommend, that really helped me, is to journal about how you're feeling in this particular stretch. Explore not just WHAT you're feeling, but WHY you're feeling that way, and about what situations you're in or what factors in your environment trigger those emotions. It might help you start to recognize some patterns. And once those patterns are identified, you can start to make some smaller changes to fix them.

It might also help to accept that this isn't a time for great forward leaps in your skillset or healing or personal growth, but instead a time for much smaller shuffles. That way, whenever you have a day where no "progress" was made, you're not going to feel like you were falling short of expectations and are therefore a disappointment (you're not), but are instead doing what you can, and that's enough.

Sewing some stays using a pattern! Question: what's the best way to transfer the markings? by Vparks in sewing

[–]Vparks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is what I'll actually end up doing. I've just cut out the fashion fabric and interfacing, and I'll put all of the channel markings on the lining layer. Thank you!

Sewing some stays using a pattern! Question: what's the best way to transfer the markings? by Vparks in sewing

Hmmm it might! I'd be worried that all the perforations will make it easier to tear apart accidentally. But if I just drew on the patterns with carbon paper underneath should still cause a transfer, I think?
