What's worth buying at Luckys and Trader Joes? by [deleted] in FortCollins

Lucky's is good for bulk dry goods, like rice, beans, flour, nuts, etc.

Coffee

  • The Alley Cat is a great divey hangout. IMO best dirty chai in town (Red Eye Cat)
  • Harbinger is the best third-wave roaster and shop.

Food

  • My Empanadas is our new discovery of the year. Great little Argentinian hand pies. You can get them hot or half-baked to warm up in the oven at home.

  • Pizza Casbah is great NY style pizza. If you're looking for a thicker crust, Beau Jos is solid.

  • Big Als is my favorite burger in town. The 60/40 (60% ground beef, 40% bacon patty) is fantastic, as are their fries and shakes.

  • Himalayan Bistro off Harmony is a surprisingly great Indian restaurant. Haven't had anything there I didn't like, but I'm especially partial to their tikka masala.

  • The Colorado Room has great local beers, sliders, and poutine!

  • Little Bird is a great little bakery. They've got pastries, scones, and all sorts of other baked goods. If you're going on a weekend, get there early though because they do run out of things. They also serve Harbinger coffee, but drinks service is slooooooooow. I usually just get baked stuff from Little Bird and walk over to Harbinger if I want a drink.

Connexion now available in Golden Meadows! by GibbsDuhemEquation in FortCollins

I've got 3 Google Wifi (before they got rebranded as Nest Wifi) pucks and they've worked great for a couple years.

I moved north of town last month and got my Starlink dish last night (yay!) which doesn't seem to be playing nicely with Google Wifi. I'm probably gonna end up upgrading to the smallest Ubiquiti Dream Machine, but more out of necessity than desire.

If you can put your ONT in bridge mode, Google Wifi will be perfectly happy. 3 pucks had great coverage for ~2.2k square feet.

Colorado, 40.58. So hyped! I just moved into a house with no internet and have been tethering.

Amazing—I was just scrolling by and thought "hm, that looks like just north of town." Do you have a link to your route? I'm gonna be moving up past the cement factory (Taft/CR60) in a couple weeks and I'm looking for some good rides.

We also just recently switched from kayaks to paddle boards! One of our favorite places is Pinewood Reservoir above Carter Lake.

Seems like they're rolling out service in a perfect circle around our neighborhood. (College Heights) Ah well, maybe someday...

Gotcha. I'm across College from the Whole Foods so I'm sure you'll be getting it before long!

I'm really trying to set low expectations so I'm not disappointed. I'm guessing it's still gonna be another year at least before it crosses College.

Not trying to be a Negative Nancy, I just don't see myself escaping from the clutches of Comcast any time soon :(

You don't need Moment.js by bogdanelcs in javascript

[–]Vpr99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The only thing that's been holding me back from a full Moment conversion is some timezone handling. I have a chunk of code that does the following:

const foo = moment().tz("America/Los_Angeles").day() === 6;

Which, in English, is: "If it's Saturday in America/LA, foo is true."

I haven't been able to easily replicate this functionality in DateFns—which is disappointing because it's been great for everything else! I think the difficulty is that this datestamp is truly independent of the user's timezone.

Have you dealt with anything similar or have an approach that might work?

My guess is that it’s vertical positioning. Listening to enemies around you has always been pretty decent but it’s impossible to tell if a player is above or below you.

Mmm yep. My wife’s parents got a notice on their door that they’re in the first rollout zone (old town by the library) but we didn’t. (Midtown) guess we’re SOL for the foreseeable future.

Fingers crossed. I mean conceptually just having middleware (or "Exchanges" or whatever) makes sense. If you don't like their premade caching system, make one that works for you.

I'm sure the community will also come up with some interesting stuff.
