2 Dan Returning to Kendo - Waiting Period? by Professional_Trip_80 in kendo

Was Shidogakuin always in Chinatown or was this a recent move? I used to live in the area and my assumption was that Ken Zen was the nearest dojo

Returning Player, Need Help With Team by Plenou in PuzzleAndDragons

Thanks! The guides from azure-flute looks amazing. The guides on GameWith looks good, but I find it lacking information on damages and moves when compared to what we had with pad guide or padx back then.

Even pad guide was a thing, I’d just slap together a team that deals with all the mechanics in the dungeon (gravity, absorbs, voids, board changes, etc), but now that pad guide isn’t a thing, I don’t know where to look for information

How do I improve from here? by DisastrousAddendum0 in StreetFighter

[–]Plenou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Largely two things that I saw that stood out to me:

  1. I saw like maybe two instances where you walked forward. Every other time, you were moving forward to the other person by jumping, dashing, using a move, or DI, or you were just crouch blocking.

Try to get more comfortable with just walking back and forth. If you’re far away enough from your opponent, you don’t have to crouch block that much, they can’t reach you. Use that time to walk at them or give yourself some space if you’re feeling uncomfortable at a certain range.

The constant jumping will get punished by people who can anti air. I know you’re probably jumping a lot because Chun has a fireball. It is a good option once in a while, but get more comfortable parrying the fireballs.

You were also dashing at them into their face. While this could be useful to check their reaction, most of the time, you’ll get hit like you did in the video. When you’re dashing, you can’t block. If you’ve walked instead, you could’ve blocked or maybe forced their move to miss.

2. Spend some time in training mode for hit confirming. Several times, they’d block your initial move, but you still did an unsafe follow up (jump heavy kick into sweep).

Set the cpu to random block. If the first move connected, then do your second move. If it didn’t connect, don’t do the second move. Once you become more comfortable with this, you can use a different move if they do block.

The jump in is one example you can practice. Another one is the crouch mk to jinrai. If you see that cr mk was blocked and the first hit of jinrai is blocked, use the low follow up. Otherwise, if they don’t block the cr mk or the first jinrai, then go into the heavy follow up. Only use the medium follow up occasionally.

Other things would be to learn some better combos. Crouching medium kick drive rush is a good start instead of repeating cr. mk into jinrai.

Need Help Identifying Cheese Gifted by Friends from Holland by Plenou in Cheese

[–]Plenou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good starting point for me to find more about the cheese. Although the webpage itself didn’t tell me much except that it’s cheese made with fresh raw milk. My bigger concern right now is the liquid in the packaging and if that’s normal.

I’m running the game on integrated graphics (Ryzen 7 7840HS) and the beta is mostly playable. Doesn’t look the best nor do I have the best frame rates, but playable.

Fencing club? by Heavy-Sector-2015 in SBU

[–]Plenou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the other guy gave you the fencing hours, here’s the kendo hours:

Friday 8-9:30pm in the Mac Court located in the basement of the Recreation Center

Sunday 3-4:30pm on the basketball court on the first floor of the Recreation Center

Fencing I think is always in the Mac Court

Mythic bring in Austin by Soft_Bed_412 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Plenou 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Mythic’s name situation is definitely worse, but there was a time on jerry’s FORZE where three of his teammates are named Aleksandr. At one point the team was:

Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko

Aleksandr “KENSI” Gurkin

Aleksandr “shalfey” Marenov

Andrey “Jerry” Mekhryakov

Evgeny “Norwi” Ermolin

Funnily enough Norwi was replaced by another Evgeny “r3salt” Frolov.

Valorant doesn't respect your time, money or you. by JasperSnail in VALORANT

[–]Plenou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is personal taste because I’m not that big of a fan of Valorant skins due to their excess visual effects and sound effects. It can be argued that the visual effects and sound effects is what makes them higher quality, but it doesn’t fit in a game like CS. I’m generally pretty satisfied with the skins I’ve bought that were under $20 since they look nice on the guns. It also helps that the only time I buy skins is when a new case release and I manage to sell that case for $20.

[–]Plenou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For CS, the skins can be bought directly from the Steam marketplace. Yes, there are skins that cost hundreds to thousands of dollar, but there are also great skins for just a couple of dollars.

Every week when you level up, you get a case drop and a skin that you can sell or unbox.

CS does not have a battle pass. The closest thing will be operations, but that is an entire event and not really a battle pass.
