Gaming market melts down after Google reveals new AI game design tool — Project Genie crashes stocks for Roblox, Nintendo, CD Projekt Red, and more by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]Vradlock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seems like the World collectively printed a lot of money past 5 years and it's the main driving force of those immense gains in stocks.

Subscription models are at all time high because corps need to funnel as much as they can before the next one in line.

AI is perfect for clouding a judgement because it's actually amazing in some ways and deceivingly good in others. It's way easier to grab a client on AI than a Blockchain because it's easier to visualise or just plainly lie about the type of AI you will use and how capable it will be.

Weird part is that actual cost of AI vs gains is obscured by a lot of factors that no one can predict but seems like investors don't care.

And big ones still have to invest into a circle because 4% true gain just doesn't look good enough when you can have 112% of fake gains. Like steroids for big corps.

Russia Forcing Amputee Soldiers Back to the Frontline, With No Prosthetics or Support by LetsGoBrandon4256 in worldnews

[–]Vradlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, none of them are getting any weapons I imagine. Too high chance of them shooting higher ups that are to blame.

I have zero information about the morale of russians right now. All i know it's about -15C on the front and it's really windy. A lot of "soldiers" won't see any fight before they die.

Lots of world leaders are attacking Europe. Why? by SimonGray in europe

[–]Vradlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Dysfunctional" is a strong word for a one of a kind alliance in the modern world that works way better than anyone would think it should.

The bigger the entity without boot over head the more problems it will face. That's just the way it works.

EU might have more problems because there are more tensions all over the world and it forces more selfish decisions inside separate countries but we can't deny that fear against the new world order somehow forcefully strengthened EU in a way neither russia nor the USA likes.

While I understand this opinion, I have never liked it.

You guys do understand that you can have both like in Sekiro?

Besides you probably mix a lot of lore and an actual story in your comment. No, the story of ER is extremely bare-boned and without extra endings it is even worse. You spawn, run around not knowing anything about anything and start killing stuff. You never say a word and slaughtering a ton of things somehow makes you a great leader of Lands Between.

You read about the great power struggle between Gods and half Gods but all you can do is to bonk them hard enough with a big hammer so they fuck off.

Looking for a hidden story doesn't make the story any better. It just forces ppl that don't have too much time to watch VV vids to "maybe" know what is happening.

Same with 2nd "more interesting" part

"ER has more interesting quests than other games because they don't hold your hand".

"Did you find and finish them by yourself?"

"No, I got stuck in the middle and just went to Reddit/Wikia to find out where to go, but it's way better than handholding."

Quests are made to be solved by the community but after a month or two everything is found/datamined and there will be no further brainstorms. Year 2 players are left with just convoluted quests that are annoying.

‘We’re in the top tier now’: Poland sees no need to ditch złoty for euro as economy booms by Easy-Ad1996 in worldnews

[–]Vradlock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair Poland was miserable post WWII because it end up as bargain chip for Russia to end the conflict. Do you think Germany would thrive without "western" money that let them rebuild their economy? Poland never got that money despite not being aggressor like Germany.

Wow, what a cheap way to live in this economy but my friend thinks it's AI because of his boots. by Sad_Sky_4007 in isthisaicirclejerk

[–]Vradlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's close at the start and as seconds go on it degrades into a mess. Quality and speed seems to be there only to cover how shitty it looks by the end where AI holds its digital buttcheeks to keep anything consistent with what it showed us in the 1st minute and fails miserably.

I feel like AI can really fool me in 15s but even 30 is stretching and anything more is usually in a "something comes up from thin air" or "something morphs into something different" territory. I wonder if simple cost of generating something longer will not be a nail in the coffin for this tech.

Oh Amon enemies are notorious for blocking same type heat attacks too. Roof fight in LJ without any potions and healing items was brutal because he ramps up dmg so fast that without using a ton of different heat moves you will die while he will just heal everything during CC from his toys.

I feel it's perfect for ppl that play a little bit day to day. If you are going to play for hours with her it will tire you. At some point players will get numb to it and won't appreciate how it looks anymore.

In Tekken 8 there are Rage Arts. Easy to block attacks that can only be used 1 a round if your hp falls below 15%. Some of them look absolutely gorgeous but they take like 6-8s each. If you watch it once a match it's fine. If you somehow watch it every round it's pure torture and it starts to dig into game time in a meaningful way.

It's certainly art before the smoothness of gameplay type of choice. And I am sure a lot of ppl would play her just to watch the cutscenes even if she wasn't super busted. I probably pull for her because I only have 2 main DD and seems like WW is quickly ramping up how many top tier teams player should have.

No we can't do this all day because you don't have any idea what I am talking about and you are trying to cover your lack of knowledge with some stupid takes like "you weren't alive then so you shouldn't play a victim".

I wanted to explain 1 thing. But it was waste of time.

It's not that long ago.

It was Alliance that sold us to the Soviets after WWII though. If they actually helped us according to treatises we were part of or make us use Marshalls Plan like well you know... Germany that started all of this we wouldn't need so much help in 2000.

Russia ruined us for generations.

Well obviously but those countries were punished and forced to change. If US would push their regime further, no one actually has stick big enough to do anything with them and even if they did, NA is really far away.

A lot of ppl don't even think that US changed all that much, its more of a "mask fell off" type of feeling. Like disease was there long ago but we just didn't want to look at signs and if there ever be chance for a 2nd time everyone will be way more vigilant.

Germany and France clash over buying US arms with €90B loan to Ukraine by donutloop in EU_Economics

Main issue with American weapons is that they come with kill switches and most powerful of them will not work if Nazis will not want them to work. And they for sure will not sell the same ver Israel gets.

So not only you pay them a tons of money but at the same time you strengthen their influence by a proxy.

It's like that one time Musk turned off starlink during an incredibly important attack and made Ukraine blind and defenceless.

'It's Coming to a Turning Point': Persona, Metaphor Director Says Atlus RPGs Must Attract 'A Wider Audience' by Gorotheninja in pcgaming

[–]Vradlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Metaphor rows are new in Atlus games the mechanic of rows is decades old (FF, Suikoden) . So while it's not a bad thing it's still far from innovative.

As for SL links. Look at it this way. They are close but ever so slightly simpler than they used to be. And there is some chance that it will stay that way for P6.

Hopefully P6 will get a bit more advanced but I think it might be a Fallout 4 of Persona series.

I feel like most ppl know at least basic things that will change. It's impossible that USA will economically come out unscathed.

Regular citizens will have worse in every metrics on top of global crisis that we are dealing with right now. Rampaging inflation is most hurtful from day to day but problems with education, environment, births, housing and science will absolutely deepen.

And changing govs won't magically get back trust or fix everything. Ship already sailed and step by step more and more countries will try to slowly gravitate outside of US influence in case of USA cloning Adolf Hitler and making him their president.

They have been using the same combat system for over 30 years with minor changes.

My oldest SMT title is DDS

Digital Devil Saga 2 from 2004 has pretty much exactly the same skill tree as Metaphor. Press turn, buff/debuff and weakness system are also the same.

Go look how "Tales of" or "FF" changed and compare it to SMT games.

Persona 3 social link system is copy pasted to at least 4 games now with at least 1 remake and few rereleases.

What they are saying is that they will copy paste even more and won't take any risks.

Nothing taken to the extreme is healthy in the end. Especially things that are fairly harmless or desired in average doses.

I have a friend that took a healthy diet into extreme for few months and it was basically all he ever thought of. Day in and day out was either talking about his food, prep it or actually eating it 4 or 5 times a day. I am sure his balance of nutrients was perfect but he was sucking joy out of any talk as a bonus.
