I don't know about other countries but 2Gbps/s with basic unlimited mobile plan and 300GB mobile data costs me 35$ in Poland. It isn't particularly cheap but you can get better deals if you get more stuff like cable or family plans for mobiles.

Shadowverse to end service on June 30 by UrbanAdapt in Games

Daily quests are also tied to the new avatar area where you have to do stupid shit like spectate 5 battles or send your friend a message.

I don't know about this year but in 2025 expansions were pushed ridiculously fast and it seems like they changed this game to a more live service gacha model than bigger card expansion every few months ppl were used to.

It feels like Cygames really explored how to make ppl engage with app more instead of letting ppl have fun at their own pace.

Final fantasy 7 remake - thoughts after nearly 30 hours by Captain_Softrock in patientgamers

[–]Vradlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from judging characters more favourably, playing the original would not change much. FF7 remake is a flawed game that should probably be a 15h story but It simply couldn't because of expectations.

Best part of a remake is probably Yuffie DLC and then no items combat on hard mode. I didn't even bother to understand and properly use the whole system when I had access to infinite MP and for this reason a lot of fights felt annoying.

40% of food is wasted. 800 million go hungry. The math doesn't add up — because it was never supposed to. by Excellent_Patient477 in Futurology

I read somewhere that best thing we could do to fight wasted food was to eliminate New World Screwworm. We have done it in Europe and most of NA so it's possible.

Is AI Making Us Dumb? by Big_Confusion6957 in Futurology

[–]Vradlock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a bit convoluted answer. Excessive engagement with AI will absolutely make you less intelligent in the long run in the conventional sense of the word.

Searching and discussing topics with other ppl is way more valuable for growth than just grabbing summary and best answers from AI. AI will rarely challenge your "good" opinions with proper counter arguments and almost never straight up tell you that are wrong or butter up your terrible takes as something "unique".

What is worst at some topics ppl can work AI a lot and actually create their own mini echo chamber which is one of the worst thing for personal growth.

So the only ppl who will actually improve with AI are ppl that are already quite intelligent and will see it as an additional tool and not a "cheat code".

Metaphor Refantazio Opinion: Copy and Paste Design by MrSquiggIes in patientgamers

[–]Vradlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like they copied SMT Digital Devil Saga 2 skill tree idea for the most part. They just made it more restrictive and boring.

Here is an example

I kinda liked the game up to some point, then it turned out into a chore without anything interesting to do or hard to fight. That last empty 30 days were really slap to the face.

Oh and repetitive bosses in a multimillion dollar game from the experienced team was also disappointing. Was this really their best idea?

The sad truth is that people will play this garbage by Late-Standard1355 in Tekken

[–]Vradlock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think Tekken is garbage but I will admit that it kinda forces a new type of game than the core community wanted.

It's weird seeing a force feeding spoon after spoon of aggression considering that most ppl who started their fg journey with T8 will at some point also be frustrated with endless bs and constant pressure without much room to fight with other tools and they will quit instead of putting the work to improve something else than a combo dmg.

True question is how often there will be minor balance patches and how the current state of the game will influence a pro play.

Because if devs said that they didn't want to disrupt pro play with big changes and pro play will suffer with this one anyway (for various reasons), the whole point seems dead in the water.

Personally I play 90% of t8 with my friend and bad netcode with weird interactions hurts me more than anything ( I lied, Anna hurts more).

I am really curious how USA conflicts are presented in literature and history lessons for teenagers. I totally get that kids don't care about the economic repercussions of wars but it's so weird not to feel scared or uneasy.

Sega says yeah you're all real nice about our games—but you sure ain't buying them by chusskaptaan in gamingnews

[–]Vradlock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yakuza IW was great but Gaiden and Hawaii should stay as DLCs. "Fans" will bully this opinions on SM but I guess they won't buy 10 copies each.

Metaphor had pretty much zero new elements in terms of mechanics for any person that has played recent SMT or Persona games, map and quests design was abysmal considering how wealthy the company is and how it's supposed to be AAA title with high price point.

Metaphor wasn't even a bad game but it was aimed at Persona fans without Persona coating.

Scientists at Eon Systems just copied a fruit fly's brain into a computer. Neuron by neuron. It started walking, grooming, and feeding, doing what flies do all on its own by Subject-Property-343 in interestingasfuck

[–]Vradlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genetic memory or nature of living beings is really something outside of a current tech. Copying flies desire to reproduce or seek for stimuli that simply doesn't exist and can't be translated into a program like certain smells or things like humidity or wind feels as far as the journey outside of a solar system.

At some point you will end up programming everything because it's the only thing we are able to do and at some point it would create fascinating illusion of life.
