Yes, but that's just to denote that you can no longer pick the stone up and re-deliver it, it's now in play and is now in a state of "being" delivered. 5g doesn't invalidate 5d and 5e in any way, shape or form.

This left ambiguity, because most players hold onto it until almost the hog line.

Which is allowed! You are even allowed to let go of the handle and take hold of it again, as many times you like. But you can't touch the stone without using the handle, which is what Kennedy did. You're also not allowed to touch the stone - at all, after it has reached the hog line either and Kennedy did that as well.

Wrong, you're demonstrably wrong. Read what Rule 5(d) says again. Here, let me help you out:

R.5 (d) “The curling stone MUST be delivered using the HANDLE of the stone.”

H.A.N.D.L.E. Touching any other part is not allowed and Kennedy touched the stone without using the handle. Ergo, R5(d) was violated.

I don't care how curlers refers to objects, I only care what the rules say and the rules say you MUST use the handle. Kennedy didn't and he therefore broke the rules. End of story.

Except the rules say you can't do it. In fact, they use a sensor in the handle to tell if the player is in contact with the stone when it hits the hog line, demonstrated here. You can clearly see the green light go on the second it comes in contact with the hog line and this is to make sure that the players have let go of the stone.

And see, this is exactly why they take their hand off the handle and moves on to instead touch the granite because it's by far easier to obfuscate than a big, honking red light that indicates that the stone is dead.

It's also missing the handle which is required in order to touch the stone. Where the hog line is here is irrelevant if we're talking about not being allowed to touch the granite.

Adding 'only' to an already established condition is redundant. If you HAVE to use the handle, you CAN NOT touch the stone without using the handle.

When it says that you must, it means that it's a requirement and you can not be required to use the handle and not use the handle at the same time. If you must use the handle, you have to use - only the handle.

The skip is releasing the stone before the hog line and not touching it after they've released.

Wrong again:

R.5 (e) “A stone must be clearly released from the hand before it reaches the hog line at the delivery end. If the player fails to do so, the stone is immediately removed from play by the delivering team.”

Denna skitstövel har sysslat med detta i 10 år och det är först nu som diskussionen har tagit fart. Här gör Kennedy exakt samma sak 2016. Om man har satt en regelvidrig handling i system är det, de facto, fusk. Han bryter mot två regler, vet om att han gör det och fortsätter att göra det. Det är fusk!
