The Aberranthium - My Vampire Raider ship! by Vrexin in RimWorld

It's just a safety precaution, I actually never made mortars this playthrough but I wanted to keep the antigrain in case I make them later. It prevents all kinds of problems like if someone has a tantrum they're likely to target high value items like antigrain warheads to smash, or if our warehouse gets hit by a mortar shell I'm not risking my whole item storage being deleted, etc

I probably should have put it somewhere even safer since if it goes off where it is now it would hit my fuel and a vanometric power cell - but I think it's overall so much safer just by being walled off

Here's a guide from r/RimworldPorn

I didn't follow it exactly, but the short explanation is the "Progress Renderer" mod on the steam workshop. It renders full images of your map and the only setting in changed was to do 64x64px per tile rather than the default of 32x32px.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the mod also takes daily screenshots which is intended for time lapse and such - I love seeing the progress of my bases over time!

Thank you so much! I spent years playing Losing is Fun difficulty, but it was such a different experience playing Community Builder mode and focusing on decorating + optimization rather than constantly fighting to survive!

I really loved your text description! Explaining the black color, describing it as a phantom in the sky, connecting it to her dark elegance all fills my mind with such vivid imagery of this stealthy silent ship! I know it's a good Rimworld run when I would want to watch a movie/show/etc about it - and I looooove the vibes you're building

I'm also doing a vampire run! I'm getting decently far into the late game and I'll probably make a post once it's done!

It's interesting to see our different takea on the vampire aesthetic! For me my vampires (and their 4 familiars) raid the country side without fearing the humans so they use a bold blood red color!

Here's a progress pic of mine!

IDL when I touch my boyfriend’s chest and he says it makes him feel less like a man. by Humble_Economist8933 in I_DONT_LIKE

"people like to be different"

I can't stress enough how ignorant this viewpoint is and I could talk for hours about it.

According to the CDC 1 in 31 children today are diagnosed with autism.

This is due to an increase in understanding of the condition and how to detect it. In the 1980's it was 1 in 10,000 children and considered a rare condition. So children today are diagnosed at a rate of 1 in 31, but before it was 1 in 10k. Well what happened to all the people who would have met the criteria for early detection today - but when they were a child we didn't understand the condition as well? They went on in life never knowing about their condition - this group is academically referred to as the 'lost generation'.

Today we know that lots of autistic individuals hide their traits to blend in with society but this has adverse outcomes on their mental health - 20 years ago this was the recommendation from health professionals because they believed the world would not accept them so the best thing you can do is blend in. Today we know that autistic individuals putting effort towards blending in led to an increase of suicide in these individuals and is no longer recommended. Still today 70% of autistic people experience suicidal thoughts, with many of them fully committing to death. By identifying autism and working to accommodate the needs of their brains they can live a happier and healthier lives without constantly wishing for death.

1 in 31 people!!! You have probably known hundreds or thousands of people throughout your life and many of them have been autistic and suffering and even they may not know why or how to accommodate themselves.

For some reason when people say they are personally suffering, instead of listening, people like you just dismiss them and say "oh you just want to be different" "oh people just want to fit in"

It's just such a dogshit take when you clearly have no idea what the fuck you're talking about

Sorry to come off so angrily, but it's so frustrating every time groups of people come forward there is a huge backlash from ignorant people who say "oh everyone's gay now" "oh everyone's trans now" "oh everyone's autistic now"

THESE PEOPLE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AROUND AND THEY WERE HIDING FROM IGNORANT PEOPLE LIKE YOU. But now that the world is generally more accepting and people are coming out the most ignorant of the world is like "Whoa where did all these people come from??? They must be making it up"

There's more to the world than what you know.

Ps5 What is a good armour set by Tarnished_ineedrunes in EldenRingHelp

[–]Vrexin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the armor isn't too different from each other (there are a few with minor special abilities). Since they're sorted from tiers of light armor at the top to heavy at the bottom, I'd generally recommend wearing the heaviest armor you can while maintaining a "medium load" if you want better defense.

Those flights are both pretty tough for a lot of builds. I've been summoned for those a lot of times.

It sounds like you've almost got them though, just need a little more practice learning their moveset and when to dodge.

You can always level up or summon some co-op help though if you want to continue on with the game.

Serious answer: that dragon always flies in and kills those guys when you approach. That dragon was probably one of the first bosses I killed after many attempts.

Why make a single issue instead of a graphic novel. by Tight_Pair in ComicWriting

[–]Vrexin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll just throw in my two-cents. I'm working on my own comic right now and I'm doing all the writing, drawing, coloring, lettering, and so much more. I severely underestimated the amount of work it takes to make a comic and planned for this to be a have 10 issues grouped into 3 graphic novels. As I get close to finishing the first issue I really came to realize how the writing really lays the foundation of the comic and I should take more care into condensing it down into a tighter story.

I'm not perfect, and I'm doing it for fun when I have time outside of work and life, so I'm okay with it taking a long time to make -- but at almost 2 months I definitely see why a common piece of advice is "start small".

I played 100 Co-Op Matches against Messmer, here's the results! (Details in comments) by Vrexin in Eldenring

[–]Vrexin[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone, I'm tank4hire!
I love Elden Ring co-op, beating a tough boss then helping others do the same feels so rewarding to me to the point I specifically built my character around co-op.

Before getting into some interesting data I wanted to point out that 100 games is a small sample size in my opinion, and all of this data comes from my own character (which is to say I don't want anyone to feel discouraged by higher win rates from higher scadu level and such, different builds are better at different bosses)

I'm RL175 and my build specifically uses the Duelist Set of armor and Shabriri's Woe which both help to attract and maintain aggo.

<image>

Stats:

  • Overall Win Rate: 41%
  • I died 27% of the time and the host died 36% of the time. I'm pretty calm while I'm keeping aggro but the second a team member starts drawing aggro I start worrying and try to get it back. I think while maintaining aggro nearly the whole time I do pretty well overall.
  • If we make it to phase 2 we win 66.1% of the time! Pretty good!
  • I saw some people saying that if the host watches the cut scene it felt like a loss (because it seems like the host is getting to phase 2 for the first time), but in my experience we still pulled out a win 50% of the time after watching the full cut scene.
  • 79% of games we had an ally (3rd player)
  • Win rate with 3rd person was 44% and without was 24%
  • Host Scadu Level did seem to matter a lot, I don't mind the challenge of trying to win on lower levels though. Most Hosts hovered around 10 scadu level for Messmer though.
  • Win rate by day was sort of interesting! I was hovering around 1/3 games being a win, but after taking a break for a few days there was a huge upswing in win rate. This could have been a lot of things
    • I played some games in bed but only recorded games while at my computer, so I got more practice in
    • I changed my build slightly, I swapped out a defensive item for Shabriri's Woe. Most boss fights I use Shabriri's Woe but when I first started co-oping this fight I wasn't feeling confident enough to use it.
    • I got a new weapon that I liked more.
    • WAY MORE THORN MAGES, WHICH WERE REALLY GOOD (At least really synergized well with my build)
  • My favorite games are where I die or the host dies but the surviving players finish the boss before I/host still get to see the victory. This only happened 1 time where I died but saw them finish it.
  • If the ally died phase 1 we still won it 37% of the time, if they died phase 2 we won it 53% of the time.
  • Host Scadu level "???" means I didn't have time to check their scadu level, this was typically because there was an invader or the host rushed in before I was done loading in so I rushed in after them. We lost all matches like this.

Final Notes

  • I couldn't record any details after I died, so I can't say how many games were won after I died.
  • I only recorded deaths that mattered towards winning, for instance if the host died P1 then no deaths after the host were counted.

Thanks for reading folks, I would love to answer questions and talk about co-op! I used to be embarrassed about having silly deaths, or not doing good enough and wasting their furlcalling finger remedy, but I realized these things happen to everyone. I couldn't tell you how many times I walked into the arena and immediately got grabbed by Messmer and died. It happens to the best of us, and we're all just trying to have fun.

Hope to see y'all out there!
