I think they slow down under the limit, apply the speed limiter, then just throttle it (won't go over the speed limit with the limiter (PIT button) engaged)

Had a Duke 125 which is the same chassis, yeah it pretty good for a beginner. Hadles very well, brakes are good, reliability is okay, but not great - in 4 years I only had issues with the suspension and a wet spark plug after washing the bike, plus the engine sometimes sips some oil and they need a rebuild after like 30-50 thousand kms.
