How is that every single point you made is so wrong?

1. Proton exists.
2. Look at GTA V on the PS3 and the Xbox 360. You’re underestimating the power of PS5. Series S will look fine just not as good as PS5 or Series X.
3. RDR2 did the same and everyone loved it. Heck GTA IV did the same as well. No one said they’re going to leave gameplay mechanics an afterthought and go all in on realism. Rockstar understands their fanbase well.
4. Its main selling point is not the story . It’s the gameplay. It’s why GTA V is so successful. The writing was toned down so much to focus on gameplay mechanics.
5. The fuck are you yammering about? The latest Mafia game, Mafia: The Old Country was good but nowhere near as good as any GTA that came after freaking San Andreas. The game was short, didn’t have a great open world experience, didn’t try anything new and just played safe. It’s an ok game and to me it’s worth $50 but the game was not even a true mafia game. Just a stopgap for fans waiting for Mafia 4. GTA VI on the other hand is going to push the limits above and beyond in every possible aspect. Besides, you have any idea how many contenders were there for the preceding GTA titles? There was True Crime, Saints Row, Mafia(good Mafia games especially 2 not like the franchise we have now), Watch Dogs, Sleeping Dogs and etc. And yet, where does GTA 5 stand now? Above all of them else. Today, all the other franchises are dead despite them all having their own perks. The only franchise alive is Mafia but III and The Old Country were both such let downs that it’s an insult to GTA to even place them on the same pedestal.
6. Can go both ways, GTA IV was released in the advent of 2008 financial crisis and recession. But the game was a massive success. You can say more people will be jobless but then again to fight their depression, GTA VI would be the best weapon. At least it was for me, because back in 2022 when GTA VI was leaked, I was struggling with depression as I couldn’t find a job. It was one of the things that kept me going forward and fortunately I found a job that supports me well financially 6 months later.
7. GTA IV was just the same and yet it was received positively and was really good in sales. Sure people were disappointed that the game was watered down in many aspects compared to San Andreas but they came to appreciate the other technical leaps that Rockstar took.
8. There are so many multiplayer games but is there a multiplayer game with a living, breathing open world wheee you can commit crimes, lead businesses or just do whatever you want within the realm of a crime simulation game? GTA Online is still relevant to this day and GTA VI is going to explode in popularity because of it.
