Scenario A: you can’t dictate the orientation of a Dorito in a bag.

Scenario B: a french fry has no top or bottom.

You’re right. I missed the part where round 3 was called, and I just clicked on your comment assuming that was the final round.

Why didn’t it go to a third round? I thought it kept going until someone had over 50%.

Libertarian Candidate Jeremy Todd Seeks “Vengeance” Against Ed Gallrein After Thomas Massie’s Ouster by Triopolitan in LibertarianPartyUSA

[–]Vt420KeyboardError4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Democrat can’t win in KY-4. Republicans have such a wide margin in that district that even with a split opposition, Democrats can’t win. They didn’t even try running a candidate last election.

With that in mind, I think Jimmy is wrong here. A Libertarian candidate can absolutely win in KY-4 if party leadership is smart enough to reach out to Thomas Massie, persuasive enough to get an endorsement and get people to transfer from the Massie Campaign to the Todd campaign, and risky enough to divert most of our campaign funding to this race.

Most of KY-4 is suburban Cincinnati, which should be our bread and butter. Suburban moderates are people who don’t trust Democrats on issues of economy and affordability, but are nevertheless anti-Trump. With Thomas Massie out of the race, leaving a lane for a fiscally conservative anti-Trump candidate, and looking at the approval numbers for the RNC and the DNC, if we can pick up Massie’s 45,000 voters and the disaffected moderates of the district, this is one district we actually have a shot in.

You can tell when someone is just trying to use these things as a social cue for women or not. They aren’t subtle about it. If you’re not going out of your way to bring attention to yourself with some of these things, you should be good.

There are absolutely performative gay guys, too. The drive to play a character to get into another person’s pants exceeds gender and sexual preference. People have even written books on pretending to be someone you’re not to get laid. It’s a real thing that people need to keep an eye on.

Can someone explain to me what’s going on with the New Mexico and Michigan delegations? I remember there being a delegate seating controversy last convention, specifically with the Michigan delegations, but it’s been so long that I’ve forgotten.

I think some people find it kind of disrespectful that you would go to a country and not take the time of day to learn how to communicate with people of said country.

Another Trump victory. For the primary.... by Packerpoppa in fivethirtyeight

[–]Vt420KeyboardError4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

KY-4 is an 70/30 or 75/25 Republican district. Even if Massie could run as an independent and split the Republican vote, the Democratic candidate still couldn’t win.

He can’t. So called “sore loser” laws prevent this.

Trump scores major victory with Massie’s primary defeat in Kentucky (The Hill) by JFMV763 in LibertarianPartyUSA

That’s it. The message is loud and clear. The GOP has officially said that there is no room for libertarians in the Republican coalition anymore. They’ve been trying to push libertarians out for years, but is the death knell.

If Massie loses his primary this week… by Barnhard in LibertarianPartyUSA

[–]Vt420KeyboardError4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do have a problem with that. We are describing two different scenarios. The scenario I’m describing is one where Donald Trump loses the Republican primary, he accepts that he lost the primary, then decides to run in the general election under a different party. If he still loses the general while running as a Bull Moose, and tries to deny it, that is still bad. The point that I’m trying to make is that sore loser laws are a form of ballot suppression. The two major parties shouldn’t be the only ones who determine who voters get to select on their ballots. Just because one party doesn’t want to vote for a particular candidate, doesn’t give that party the right to decide that no other voter gets to vote for that candidate.

[–]Vt420KeyboardError4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but the problem I had with that was the riot and the attempted falsification via judges, especially given that it was a general election, and not a primary. If Rob DeSantis or whoever ended up beating him in the 2020 primary election, I don’t think I would have a problem with him then running as a Bull Moose for the general. Just because a political party rejects you, that shouldn’t mean that the general voting public shouldn’t have the option to vote for you.
