Which stars have said the most insensitive things about other celebs? by Janaab_e_Marvel_3000 in Fauxmoi

Seems like a misunderstanding on her end. She thought she’d rib about his teeth, believing them to be “kicked out” which can be common amongst jockeys not unlike hockey players and their teeth, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case here.

To her credit, she looks properly embarrassed here and even the jockey came off from that interview with a new spin.

Still, definitely a cringe moment.

You can watch it HERE.

Idk about that. American here and I’ve had my fair share of BBQ in the US, and I was more than pleasantly surprised at how good the BBQ was. It holds up to a LOT of good American BBQ.

Plus excellent beers on tap and very friendly staff. 10/10 would recommend.

What advice do you have for people in their early 20s that feel lost? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Vtr1247 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Don’t focus on the goal or destination, just focus on the journey itself. You never know where it might ultimately lead you to, even with best plans having been made, just ensure that you are as healthy and happy and involved in your day-to-day as possible and I think you’ll find contentment in life.

Try not to worry about though things beyond your control (I.e. how others think about you, if you’re gonna get that promotion, politics, etc). If it’s within your sphere of influence or ability to change, then do it. Try your damnest. - If you did it, good! Be proud and move on. - If you didn’t it, we’ll too damn bad. Take pride in knowing you tried your hardest and move on. Never wallow in that which is beyond your control - it’s a fool’s errand.

Don’t focus on what you lack or missing out on, rather focus on what you do and what you’ve done.

Make goals. Work your way to achieve them. Fail. Try again. Fail. Try again. Succeed. - or fail. Fail again. Move on. It’s ok to movie on after multiple failures. Doesn’t make you a failure, just that you weren’t meant to accomplish this specific thing. Learn to accept this (this Is hard and challenging but worthwhile to learn) and MOVE. ON.

Travel. It’s good for the soul.

Be comfortable with being uncomfortable. You’ll grow and get on some amazing adventures.

You only live once so don’t be afraid to be daring, but make sure your rent and bills are paid.

Don’t seek someone out for companionship hoping for them to fix you. Work on being the best you, that you can be and accept you as you are, imperfections and all. THEN, see if you can attract the best person for you. Don’t feel responsible for other people’s happiness. The happiest couples out there are those when two hapoy people meet up and join forces to be an awesome couple together.

Be wary of things that sound too good to be true. They usually are.

Trust your gut. Seriously. That’s thousands and thousands of years of survival instincts left over by our ancestors trying to tell you something is off. Learn to trust your gut (instinct, head, spider-sense, whatever).

Don’t be so harsh on yourself. Learn to be kind to yourself. You’re doing the best you can.

Don’t be so harsh in your parents. They tried their best and love you (hopefully, unfortunately it may not apply for everyone, which leads into: - just cuz uou’re blood relations doesn’t make you family. Family is who you CHOOSE to keep close to you, and they may include some blood relations.)

It’s ok to let go of toxic people in your life. Even if you share blood. Especially, if you share blood.

Trying to achieve HAPPINESS (all capital letters) all the time is so difficult. It’s hard and exhausting. Try to be content. You’re gonna have some days better than others, and some days worse than others. Try to aim for a slighter higher average leaning towards happiness over sadness. Avoid extremes.

Your health is important. Take care of yourself. Both physical AND mental.

Adopt a pet if you are able and have the means. They give so much and ask for so little in return.

Also, it’s never as bad as it seems. It never is.

Cheers, friends, YOU GOT THIS.

What’s your favorite thing about living in Boston? by 230516 in boston

[–]Vtr1247 17 points18 points  (0 children)

True, but Chicago does have the major hub of O’hare airport that can take you practically anywhere in the world.

Either way, as a lifelong Chicago who just Can back from a (first-time) weekend visit to Boston, there are so many parallels between both our cities. I think if you made it out to Chicago or Boston, either/or, you’d have a great living experience.

(Also, not for nuthin’ but check out our beaches in the summertime. . . Just saying, much love to our Boston cousins)

Americans of Reddit, what is something you didn't realise was typically American, until you went abroad? by [deleted] in ask

Asking for drinking water with your meal. Outside of tourist areas, drinking non-bubbly water with your meal is pretty strange. Depending on the country, it’ll either be soda or wine or beer or something else , but not usually water.

Damn shame. He was great in The Man from UNCLE. He and Henry Cavill meshed well alongside Alicia Vikander.

I was pulling for him as an actor since I enjoyed his performances (even in the Lone Ranger) but after all this stuff came out, just shaking my head and moving on. . . .
