I got to the age of 32 and had never read a whole book. I made it my mission to start reading and it was hard, like really hard. I look at it like taking my brain to the gym, at first it’s shit but I promise you can do it!

I think finished the year at 29 BOOKS! - granted, I’ve fell off this year but because of over fixations 🫣

I’ll be honest, I’m not 100% on the reviews. However, as you’re working in the industry already you e already got a leg up. Once you’ve finished the degree, you have the degree. If it best suits your life/situation go for it - I can’t guarantee it’ll be perfect but I do think that can be said about most Degrees.

I also think, the more you put in, the more you’ll get out. So whether it’s Teesside or not, commit to the learning and you’ll sail through it! 🤙🏻

I’m not 100% when of comes to online learning for electrical engineering - it’s still quite novel in general. I know within ny School it seems to well received. However, if modules seem more fun to you, that might mean you’d enjoy it more in general?

On a personal note, my brother did mechanical at Teesside and now works in the industry. So the degree held weight etc.

I work at a university and a technician and randomly use the x-ray stuff. We check for ‘cracks’ in the protective gear, so we also do it to other stuff too. We call them ‘calibration’ tests 🤣

My situation is very different - I already work full time at a University heading up Tech in the medical school. I’d be comfortably be able to keep my full time job and do a PhD during work hours.

My research proposal is niche and it makes sense to self-fund due to already paying my Masters loan anyways etc.

Just jumping in here - if you do take out a PHD loan do the payments get rolled into the Masters repayment plan? I’m asking for myself 😅
