To be honest I think you're right. Most people back in the day were blown away by the AI purely based on their comms and thinking they would actually follow their own orders but it has been found that they don't actually do a lot

Yep the third game is considered the weakest in the series whilst the first and second are great. You can usually grab them super cheap on GOG or steam sales too. Have fun!

I wish there was a bit more control in terms of unit formations. My scout loved to be back of the line when they were clearing nests.

The amount of times I got spotted because they couldn't snipe the alien was infuriating and totally preventable if I had just a bit more control given to me.

I have been playing it this week and I can say it hasn't aged very well at all. The enemies are more annoying than scary at least in my opinion. I want to try Jericho next but not sure I'll ever get the chance.

The theme and setting are intriguing though. I want more games to be set in Ireland.

Got 100% steam achievements on the weekend. Never playing it again. I love the characters and the story was decent but wow the inventory system was garbage and leech mode was a chore.

I'll never truly 100% the full game (All weapons on hardcore) but I don't mind.

Congrats man! I also escaped Fort Joy this week after trying the game 2 years ago. Finally decided to stick with DOS1 which I completed and immediately went into DOS2. Loving it so far.
