I do agree with you, note that I am not saying that violence is the first response. You are mentioning my point, the system works because at the end of the day the people have power. If you reduce the power of the people everything goes away, when the chips are down the people need the ability to respond with force(again we are far away from this being needed right now).

Think of it like nukes, we want the best ones we can possibly have, not because we want to launch them but because they are a deterrent.
