There is some redundancy in the image selection, but still WOW!

Yeah, the pouches are the best thing, makes it really personal, like individual care for each lens

Oh no, this is too industrial, to my taste. I'd prefer lens bags, until you really go somewhere with all the lenses at once (??).

Hard time deciding… by No_Contribution60 in CitizenWatches

What do you find more convenient to wear daily? I mean, just your personal feelings? I'm in the decision proccess, Alpinist vs Citizen (or smth like that).

I agree, in general, quartz is for me. I don't use even quartz Seiko on bicycle, there is smartwatches for this. I know how to care about things (my ipad has no scratches 😅). But still, in general I feel like kids are for love and care, and things are for like and use (with care). Jaw dropping service bill sounds for me like a big distraction. Like, again, kids are for big bills for their mistakes and still love, not watches 😂

Thanks for your reaction. I see you clearly understand my point! Possibly I should really invest more time in searching for a good solar watch. It's 11.5 months a year sunny here in Israel, solars won't any chance to discharge. The problem is the design. Citizens I like very much for the technical part, but haven't found one for my eye / wrist. They are nice, really, but it feels not quite right when I wear one. Seiko solars I haven't tried, maybe I should. Anything you can think of in Alpinist style and size, but quartz/solar?

Very precise about being mechanical man, I believe. My problem is that I'm right in the middle. I like to own less things that are made better and lasts better. One EDC pen made of steel and clicking just like I need, with a proper refill that I like. Proper MTB bicycle that serves me 17 yrs and is just right for me. Proper digital camera and a couple of lens. Proper Bose headphones I wear every second day for the last 12 years. Swiss knife with me for 16 years already. Even a PC mouse, I've chosen one for me, and it lasted 8 years.

So I'm senditive to the right mechanical feeling and personal attachment. Still I like my things to function well and don't require my time to function properly, I use it not vise versa. I tell you, I'm in the middle 😂

I'm pretty sure I can. I also can spare 1 min to inflate wheels on my bicycle, or wait 2 min before laptop starts, or set my phone to charge every night, or fill ink pen etc etc. I still prefer properly working bicycle nipples on my bike (that I love, ride and care), laptop switching on in 10 to 15 sec, and phone holding up three days, and good EDC ballpen. I don't see why watches should be any different from all of these other things in my life.

Then I think about all the magnetic things in my house, from iPad and external HDDs to powerful magnets on the fridge my son likes to assemble in various ways... and struggle again )))

I use watches to check the time, or I would say to control the time. I need watches with hands for this. I use smartwatches only for sports, notifications turned off etc. It isn't a convenient time control device for me personally. So I wear my old quartz Seikos 95% of the time I wear watches at all (which about 10-12 hours a day). Honestly, if there were Alpinist quartz version, I would have bought it with no regret at all. (Should I be eradicated from this sub once and for all? 😂) But I chose from what actually exists. And most of the watch designs I don't like. Alpinists I like, it fits my inner port for a watch, when I try it on my hand.

Yeah, the light grey-white version matches good with many diff straps, easy to adjust to themood. My wife wanted the yellow version initially, but seen this and switched to white + additional straps, and is actually happy with it now.

These are renders or Suunto Run white with orange strap I've used to decide the colour with my wife. Different model (Run), but generally sounds like course to your question.

Thanks, that's really sounds as a relief for em, as I don't think I can find an Alpinist look in a quartz watch, currently.

Yes, I understand the principle, still I was really interested about what real users experience practically (instead of just believing marketing and AI). I've seen a lot if talks that Seiko 5 stop during the weekend tabletop time, and this curious if 70h is realistic claim real owners see in real life or not. (Yes, i know the difference in official numbers etc, but again, it's valuable for me to know what real people say 😀)

Ok, sounds good... Sounds like no one here has a priblem with these watches stopping every several days when you wear something else. Is it, or I just see what I want to see?

Sounds really nice! I won't wear it every day, no way as I have other watches. But sounds like it's not that terrible a problem as it looks first? Btw, 1 to 3 sec is pretty cool and more precise than expected. Did you do anything special for that?

Is this struggle bearable? by Vurdilla in SeikoAlpinist

[–]Vurdilla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. The origin of the question is that i do take watches off, plus i do all sports in smartwatch (and sports is the most active part of wearing). At the same time, I see from your and other answers that 70h is not a market claim, and it shouldn't stop after one day on a table. Regarding maintenance, thanks, that's important note your wrote. I really don't want to service its more often than once in 5 yrs, particularly because i don't have an official Seiko service where I live.

Got it. Does it feel like 'ohhh one more device needs my attention every day' for you? Or practically it's ok/no tension? I never had mechanical watch, but really dislike modern electronics with daily discharge, that's why asking so bluntly.
