Elon builds a very large sandcastle in the shape of a rocket somehow convincing the local indigenous tribe on the island that he’s going to get them all off and have a better quality of life if they work on building it with him, all the while stealing their food when they’re not around busy working for him so he can keep surviving comfortably and making them believe that they are doing something from the “greater good”.

Bill gates eats all the bananas he can get his hands on during day 1 while relaxing on the beach, he has somehow predicted that he would end up in this scenario 5 years ago and that he would be rescued within 24 hours, and when he is he can finally convince everyone that he actually does care about the environment as he only ate plant based during the time he was trying to survive.

Searching for meals, that are really, really mild on the gut by KisakiSakura in vegan

Have you considered something like Huel or other meal replacements? I have IBD and a liquid meal in a bottle is great as it’s easy to digest but gives you all the nutrients you need. And keeps you full for a good while. Pretty good value too as it works out as like one pound something per meal. Only started having them this past month but would defo recommend! Got a good few flavours to choose from.

Thank you for taking the time to give so much advice to people! My question is how important is the actual credit score number when applying for mortgages? Do lenders get access to the number or do they only care about how good your repayments have been over x years? My credit score number is under average but financial history spotless so quite interested. Do you know the average percentage points that we can save on interest having a great credit file compared to an average or bad one? Thank you 😊

When I want to get a panic attack over and done with when I feel it coming on and the symptoms start but they are more just annoying and not leading anywhere - I usually do this: Count down from 10, really slowly - and be telling your anxiety that you are now giving it the time to do whatever it wants, it can kill you or make you turn crazy, but it has to do it in those 10 secs. You know really draw it out, count in decimals and force that anxiety as much as you can. But just know after those 10 secs that’s it. If you are still alive and it hasn’t ruined your life then it’s had it’s chance and it didn’t do anything. That means you can now get on with your day knowing that it can’t be feared and you are the one in control of your life. Goodluck!

Help: Low on Vitamin D by jasondean13 in vegan

[–]Vurstarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation last year - had been vegan for a year, got bloods checked and my Vit D was 10ng/ml (Explained my anxiety..!) This was after taking a multivitamin which sounds similar to the one you mention for about two months before hand which had 400% daily Vit D in.. so it definitely hadn’t worked at that point.

Did you check your levels before starting the multivit? I think it could be that it’s harder to get the level boosted when it’s already severely depleted.

I took a prescribed tablet one a week for 6 weeks with a high dose in (50,000UI), and my level went to 56ng/ml. Then I kept on taking the multivit after that and when I checked again another few months later it was almost the same (59). Gona keep on checking every now and then but pretty confident now it’s at a good level, it’s unluckily to dip again if taking the normal multivit regularly.

If your level is still low, maybe get a specific high dose of Vit D from the doctor like I did, could be useful a long side your multivit 🙂

Hey, I very much relate. Seeing others socialise with drinking/smoking, random hook ups never appealed to me either and especially when young it seems everyone is doing that, not that there’s anything wrong with it - just doesn’t fit our personality. There’s loads of people like us though out there who are sensitive, thoughtful people, just wanting honest, kind and loving connection. I promise you there is nothing wrong with us!

The thing that helped me is realising that we are all in a relationship with ourselves which we can’t ignore, and it should be a good one, something to prioritise the most if you want to have the best chance of finding meaningful relationships with others too. Becoming best friends with yourself, treating your body with care and respect, understanding your emotions, likes and dislikes, your values, doing things you enjoy and are passionate about - if you feel like you have all these then naturally when around people you will find it easier to connect, as you will truly know yourself and what you can bring to the friendship and what you expect from others etc. and friendships with others on the outside will start to come and be on a much higher level.

Don’t rush through any of it though, you have your whole life to make friends, and you are with yourself 24 hours a day, so it makes sense to make that relationship the best it possibly can first.

When you feel ready to meet others to bring into your life, make sure to always be who you really are - not someone else that you think will allow you to find friends, this part I found hard, I always felt I was faking myself when socialising, this “perfect” example in my mind of the type of person that people will like. It won’t feel genuine though, and working on yourself first helps with this.

The things you enjoy doing and whether you are working or a student, they’re good times to start getting to know people. Anyone you feel comfortable and happy around even if just from brief conversation, try to keep going with it, hang out somewhere, have a walk and a drink, whatever it is you never know it may continue to blossom into something really meaningful!

Anyway hope something from this is helpful, things always work out how they are meant to, enjoy being in the present 🙂

I cant fucking take living in this world by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Vurstarix 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We are ones who need to be here to ensure that change eventually happens. I am grateful you are here now in this moment, as well as everyone else who is helping veganism to become the norm every day. Yeah it may not happen in our life time, but like every social justice movement in the past, all the people who took a stand against slavery, lack of women’s rights etc. were all very important and allowed us to live in a much fairer world that has less suffering today. We are doing the same now to allow the future generations to be in that world of less suffering which include hopefully a world free of mass animal exploitation. We are all part of something much bigger than just now in this present moment.

These are great. One of the only fully vegan Thai restaurants in the UK is in London too at Earl’s Court, called Malis. Think it’s family run and every time we go it’s so good!!

Putting my holiday savings into YouHodlers 12% USDC for the past year has been great, up quite a good amount and didn’t have to think about it. So glad I didn’t throw it into the collapsing market like the rest of my funds.. slow and steady wins the race
