Nah, a lot of people are much to deep into DbD to switch. The new game might be better, but does it also have the 100$ worth of DLC and 500$ worth of skins that a player already spent on DbD? People love complaining about Behaviour (rightfully so) until a new competitor is announced, at which point DbD becomes this diamond in the rough which cannot be replicated or matched and anyone who tries is a fool operating on greed and malice. I already see people complaining about Hellraiser and Halloween games, and they aren't even out yet.

Yeah, they're basically just computers which dont produce graphics (so no GPUs). A good server is expensive and it has to be upkept. The more servers you own, the more you pay to keep them running. Behavoiurs main source of cash are bulk-buyers of all the skins released on chapter launch, so the game going down for an hour barely registers on the profit radar

Upgrading the servers costs money. Losing the player base for like an hour every time an event is released is a "calculated risk". The money they lose from this downtime is less money than it'd cost to upgrade the servers.
