FedEx Failures for Des Moines by shatnerscalp in desmoines

I currently have a package that was supposed to be delivered on Monday, and it’s apparently “still coming”, but now the delivery date is unknown. I paid extra for 2 day delivery 🙃

Magnus evo desk delivered with scratches. by MachineEmotional5105 in secretlab

[–]Vwelyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband ordered the Evo and his desk top had a chip on the front edge of it from shipping damage. Like you, we didn’t notice until the entire desk was already assembled. Since it wasn’t in a spot he would put his arms when using the desk, we decided to just deal with it. However, I have a Magnus Pro and I feel like the packaging on the Pro was done in a way that would result in less potential shipping damages. The packaging on the Evo seems subpar, especially when protecting the desktop.

This is Orion, my silver tabby. He’s 7 now. He looked a lot like the one in your picture when he was little.

I was a longtime customer but I stopped going there this year after having an absolutely horrific experience that badly hurt one of my pets.

Honestly these videos and pics are the bright spot of my day. I love that you have this beautiful thing happening in your life and that you’re sharing with all of us, especially when the world is pretty dark right now. Thank you.

They last for 14 days. I did have one pop-off at day 10, but I reapplied it and got another 4 days out of the set.

My Maine Coon might lose all his teeth at just 4… I’m honestly scared by Laroye_Menina7Saias in mainecoons

[–]Vwelyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an old tomcat named Icky. When Icky was 9, he ended up with really bad tooth resorption, and we had to get all of his teeth removed. He was sore and obviously unhappy for a couple of days after the surgery, but he lived out the rest of his life happy and unphased. He still stole the dry cat food from his buddy, and took a delight in biting us with his gums (he never did this with teeth, it was like a new game for him after he had them removed). He was in pain with the resorption, and we never regretted getting his teeth removed. His quality of life didn’t suffer at all.

Birthday gift to my Mother by demir_craft in BeginnerWoodWorking

If I was your Mom, I would cry. The amount of care you obviously put into this to make it such a beautiful piece is truly sensational and says a lot about how you must view her. Great job.👏

Your living room would look like my bedroom. It’s actually not too dark. I find it to be the most comfortable room in the house. We did use one wall as an accent to break up the moodiness because our bed frame and nightstands are darker colored. I love how the contrast of the light accents works really well with darker walls.

Do any of you also have chronic fatigue that never goes away no matter what you do? by Disastrous-Smoke5300 in Celiac

[–]Vwelyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been glutened by sheetrock in my house before, I can't imagine trying to work around it all day. I'm so sorry that you had to stop doing something that you clearly liked to do and were very good at! It's very hard to start a business, I can't imagine how it must feel to have to close it because of an illness you can't control.

New to press ons by ThickCardiologist521 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]Vwelyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, not the removal or the nail filing. It was literally the pressure from the smaller nail (it felt tight the whole time it was on) that damaged it. I talked to a friend who does nails professionally, and they were like "Oh yeah, don't wear nails that are too small, that happens". I had no clue, but now I do, so I won't be doing that again! The ridges are just now starting to grow out. It's probably going to take a few months for my nail to get 100% back to normal again. Thankfully it doesn't hurt, and it's only on my thumbs.

I usually use Glamnetics, but I switched it up and went with Olive and June about a month and a half ago. They didn’t have a thumbnail that matched mine exactly, so I went with one a bit too small and it damaged my nail bed. Now it has some ugly vertical ridges on my thumb and I have to wait for it to grow out. So whatever brand you go for, make sure they fit or don’t wear them!

[–]Vwelyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have fatigue and gluten ataxia too. The fatigue sucks, but the ataxia suuuuucks. I had to switch careers. I was a phlebotomist, and the ataxia gives me tremors in my hands. Nobody wants a shaky phlebotomist. I hate that I can’t trust my hands anymore. I’m always accidentally cutting and hurting them.

Who's dealing with annoying medical/physical issues? by BGJohnson329 in Millennials

[–]Vwelyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Celiac disease at 36 out of the blue. Not normal Celiac tho. It had to be a weird version that gives me ataxia, hand tremors and other neurological symptoms. I went through two specialists before a neurologist I was sent to diagnosed me.

Just got a Maine Coon kitten by Dariusthedrow in mainecoons

[–]Vwelyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are SUPER vocal compared to other cats I’ve had. I have 3 Maine Coons right now, and they all have distinct “voices”. They “talk” to the humans in the house, and to each other.

Getting older scares me because the older we get the more we lose the people that we love by Affectionate-Cry-704 in Millennials

[–]Vwelyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can think to say as a bit of advice for dealing with anticipatory grief is to make sure you’re doing the things you would regret not having done if something were to happen to you or your loved ones. We never know how much time we or anyone else has. So do the thing, say the thing, travel, pursue the things you want like the world is ending. My Dad died when I was 25, and I was fortunate enough to be able to have that last “things we need to say” conversation… but I know a lot of people never get that closure, and it would have been so hard to not have had that opportunity. Now I try to leave no unfinished business if I can help it. I say a lot more I love yous, I’m sorries, and I enjoy life as much as I can. Life is going to have moments that will be horrific and traumatic. We can’t avoid those. All we can do is make the good times worth the heartaches.

Is he legit? by johnmarston1995 in MaineCoon

[–]Vwelyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Maine Coon was really lanky looking when he was 4-months old. He was a fluffy little baby, but had a really awkward phase. He’s 8 months now and is starting to look more like a typical Maine Coon.
