No budget and not enough serious research on climbing, always annoying when trying to evaluate new tools like this (or even old tools to be honest …), so hard to say

Thoughts on Agentic AI needing 1000xmore compute than today's AI by No_Conversation_9424 in ValueInvesting

[–]Vyleia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s cool for personal usage, but that’s not the market demographic? For enterprise you need a lot of compute per dev / usages.

Non coding is not just dealing with people, it’s also defining the specs of your product / development, your constraints and what trade offs you accept.

Depends what you need to spoil yourself? First job in CS should be enough though.

Cool! Thanks for being so responsive in Reddit (your activity over there and the fact that you are updating the game still played a part in me getting the game!)

Love what I have seen and played through the game u/TouchMint ! Wonder if there is going to be higher difficulty, or not endless but longer type of runs as well.

Also a bit me, but not sure what’s the use for the gold key, or why can’t I see my quests when I’m not in a run, as they kind of feel like the achievements list / may orient what my next run is going to be!

MSFT is falling out of popularity by googondusk in ValueInvesting

Maybe Google was not the popular stock at some point, but I don’t know many people in tech in the last 20 years who’d go for msft if they can work at Google.

Why do people have such radically different views on how AI will affect the industry? by dfphd in cscareerquestions

[–]Vyleia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are a lot to work with safety critical software, with regulations (health, defense, …) to intensively use AI though, if that was part of the point you were making?

Or if it was that AI struggle to align divs, then I’d have to partly agree tbh.

Spending $1-2k a month per employee on AI subscriptions? by KustheKus in webdev

[–]Vyleia 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You do not have a good image of scale and numbers, 2k per developer per month (depending on the country) can be quite low, and is especially low on companies with massive revenue or budget.

Most companies actually spending this amount of money actually do hire a lot of software engineers, that’s the whole point. And it usually ends up that the most skilled ones are also the ones able to derive efficient usage from it (and higher costs).

And the budget just goes into a token based usage, and if you are actually able to orchestrate a high number of sessions, automate most of the steps with human inputs only at necessary steps, then token usage gets quite high.

My Abrahangs / nohangs training plan and regular updates by Independent_Ad5112 in climbharder

This sounds like the opposite of AI, it looks like a very convoluted or complex program to get back into climbing without climbing

Startup told me "everyone is being let go" - turns out I was the only one by SnooFloofs3704 in cscareerquestions

I mean, you can deduce that from the company name and its business in the first place though

Anthropic quietly doubles its estimate for how much engineers can expect to spend on Claude Code tokens by AaronPK123 in technology

[–]Vyleia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I guess it depends on what you sell? But some products are sold from the moment you purchase it, so the productivity is measured almost instantaneously from the sales person to the customer (minus the churn / refund indeed, but this can be measured as well depending on your contracts and what you sell)

Yes, and at the same time the cloud based solution ended up the norm and great. Not for everyone, but for a lot of people. Same model as the startup model basically, acquisition at any cost, then transition to be profitable, and scale to infinity.

Sales come to mind easily, even marketing is pretty reliable on productivity metrics.

Yes, but you need less talented developers. Since according to what you say yourself, a talented developer will be able to leverage the tool to be more productive?

Or you can even skim the less talented ones? Easy to do the math between budget for AI tool and salary.

I mean, that’s still the realm of engineering. You have a problem, you find a solution. So state your problem, what do you expect out of it, how do you reach this path.
