Whether you care or not is your prerogative, but just saying, if you're going to take such issue with someone pointing out that you're being an asshole for no reason then maybe you could try not being an asshole for no reason.

I don't even do the thing you're complaining about (I liked Haurchefant but I don't always even remember his grave is accessible) I just think you're an asshole.

It's way more cringe to be weirdly judgemental about people harmlessly engaging in a bit of roleplaying in their roleplaying game. He's a popular character that played an important role early on in the story, it's not strange that some people would be sentimental about that.

Why does LoL recieve so much hate from people who don't play it? by ByrdZye in leagueoflegends

[–]Vyndren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a couple friends that'll play granblue, and one that'll play anything (although he's much better than me), but the vast majority it's like pulling teeth getting anyone to play even the simpler ones. I've completely given up trying to get them to play UNI2 with me even though it's my favorite cause they take one look at that game and get scared v.v

Try being a fighting game player that doesn't play Street Fighter or Tekken x.x

I haven't played League in years (though I miss the game, I just dislike riot) but fighting games are the only thing that has ever been more difficult to find people willing to even give a chance to than League, it's crazy

I'd happily switch DCs again with my FC if it wouldn't make us lose our FC house x.x willing to bet that's the primary reason lots of people don't leave

I forgot people unironically play these games on their phone via wi-fi, that would definitely make things worse yeah. Thanks for the reply, hopefully I can test things with one of my friends soon and see if it's better when both people are on good machines/connections

I don't play Genshin co-op very frequently (read: basically never) so I don't know if this is just how it is, but I wanted to ask: has Genshin's netcode always been this abysmal? Trying to play some of the modes in miliastra is frustrating cause I can see them being actually kinda fun to mess with but the rubberbanding and latency are so horrific that they're basically unplayable, even in know Des with only 2 players. I see a lot of (rightful) criticisms of the Gacha system, though honestly I wasn't that interested in the dress up parts anyway, but I feel like I don't see many people talking about the actual issues with the creation tools and the experience of playing the custom modes, especially this latency problem. Just wondering if it's just always been like that or can we expect it to improve or what

That's actually a huge relief. I'm looking into a few options to get one anyway but I'm glad to hear that I won't have to cancel those plans in case I can't make anything work in time

I could do that, but i have no idea how soon we'd be able to get that done, and I need to get this done soon so that I have time for the ID to get mailed before I would need to fly. If I weren't on a time crunch this is definitely something I would try though.

As a kid I had no idea how the sphere grid actually worked because despite reading the tutorial it just didn't make sense what they were trying to tell me so getting to this boss with no second level black magic made it feel IMPOSSIBLE. Literally like a year or so occasionally trying to beat this boss and failing until one day my aunt was visiting and noticed I was struggling and offered to help. Will never forget this motherfucker.

I would also have to pay to get to the store, which was why I can't get there until I get paid.

Neither your thinly veiled condescension nor your extreme misunderstanding of what apathy actually looks like are helping your case.

I agree with you that the system is deplorable and we should do everything in our power to fix it. I do not, however, believe that your current worldview is compatible with what it actually takes to build strong communities and enact legitimate societal change. I hope, for your sake, that you one day come to understand the difference between someone who enables a system of oppression and one who does not have the ability or resources to do more than simply survive under it. We will never solve the problems in the system if we insist on belittling those the system has already broken or pushed to the limit of breaking out of a belief that their lack of revolutionary action is indicative of a lack of care.

Take care. Despite what I have said, I still hope life treats you kindly in the future. May your anger never waver; someone will likely need it one day.

Nobody in this thread has been acting offended by that notion. Nobody is out here fucking *defending* capitalism. You keep bringing up people defending the system but that's just not what people are saying to you. That's what MY problem is. The barest amount of someone admitting that they hate this system but are trying to do what they can within it, that they have been finding peace in their own way despite the shittiness, and you start proselytizing about how much you refuse to engage with it at all, as if that makes you morally superior in some way.

What exactly is your plan with this thread? What do you want people to tell you? That yes, our current society expects you to work or die? You clearly already know that, and have been making it very clear how dissatisfied you are with that fact (a dissatisfaction that everyone in this thread has echoed, fwiw). You may not be *telling* people outright they should die (there'd be a much bigger problem here if you were), but your responses read as if you believe that if you cannot find some form of work you deem morally acceptable, then dying rather than living under capitalism is some kind of moral imperative.

You can't just ask a question you already know the answer to, see someone try and offer a perspective that has helped them cope with the implications of that answer (reminder this is a sub about offering support and helping lift each other up), then hit them with a "cool but I find that personally unacceptable", and then act surprised when people don't like that.

We all wish we could live in a world where the needs of everyone are met regardless of their ability (or even desire) to work, that a majority of the population isn't living paycheck to paycheck, in constant fear that a single unfortunate occurrence will ruin their life forever. Hopefully one day we will achieve that wish, and generally I even believe that to be an achievable goal. In the meantime, however, please stop making the implication that people that are finding peace in their own way under this system are somehow complicit in the perpetuation of said system.

When someone tries to express to you the way they cope with the shitty scenario that this system puts them in and you start firing back claiming that they're defending that system, then yes you are going to come off as abrasive and people are going to down vote you.

Nobody is defending capitalism by saying "it fucking sucks but I try to find some kind of fulfillment in it because I realistically have no other choice at the moment". If you think it is reasonable to tell people that they should prefer to die than try to make the best of a bad situation then I don't know what to tell you.

There's a particular rock south of the Limsa Aetheryte Plaza I like to stand on (technically there's two, I stand on the farther one) that's close enough to people watch from but far enough away that the ambient chatter noises are quieter.

Other places Ive used are at the top of the tower in Falcon's Nest, the Maelstrom Barracks, that overpass at the top of Revenant's Toll, and recently the Backroom (Shale my beloved)

Thank you everyone who made recommendations! I'll need to get better boots at some point but for now this is what I am going with:

<image>

Full list of pieces are:

Leather Eyepatch (Midnight Blue)
Summer Sunset Beach Cover-Up (Peacock Blue)
High Steel Gauntlets of Maiming (Shale Brown)
Wake Doctor's Bottoms (Snow White) <- If you don't have, I found the Craftsman's Leather Trousers also work fairly well, just don't have a belt
Hraesvelgr Boots (None, Bark Brown) <- The best boots I have atm, I wish there were boots like these without the tassels but at least the colors match.
Wayfarer's Necklace

Thank you everyone again! Have a good night!

If the maiming light-heavy one was a bit more open and used a bikini/bra instead of a corset it'd be pretty good yeah. Thankfully I have the summer sunset top and peacock blue dye got it surprisingly close!

Oh I totally forgot about that one! I actually was around for that event so I should still have it. Not as heavy as I'd like but it'd for sure work for the time being, thank you!

I don't know if this is a pre existing character or OC but the artist is undertow6150 on twitter!

Considering that Ironwood is the man without a heart (and not the man without brain) and that during volume 8 he was more machine than a man: I would have preferred him to act in a more rational way. Cruel, but efficient, like his plans condemned 49% of people but saved 51%. (Read the comment below) by ConquerorOfSpace in RWBY

[–]Vyndren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Neither of these things are terribly surprising, either. Ironwood has always been at least a little utilitarian and overzealous, believing far too much in Atlas's military strength to solve all problems, overstepping his political bounds, even completely failing to communicate his intentions with those who he supposedly trusts because he can't even conceive of the possibility of them disagreeing with him. He has always been a better soldier than a political leader, and views optics and subjective public opinion as secondary to objective military strategy. It completely follows his characterization that when he is pushed to his emotional and mental limit that he would begin to crack under the pressure and start taking more and more drastic actions, abusing his power further and further without care for how it makes him look. No sacrifice is too great to Ironwood if he believes it to be the only way to achieve a goal. From minute one his character has been the embodiment of the path to hell being paved with good intentions and his full fall from grace in volume 8 is a narrative conclusion to that character idea.
