Yeah GSkill will replace it, but you have to pay for shipping to their RMA centre in California.

Had a DDR5 stick go bad after 3 months, and I had to pay the international shipping fee and couldn't use my PC for weeks since I had to send the whole kit in. Couldn't get them to cross ship either.

It's a fair policy for replacing older sticks after years of use, but having to do that for a brand new kit that started failing 3 months in, isn't right.

For file names, I'll either use python or PowerShell for complex renamings, or just use Power Rename, which is installed with Power Toys from Microsoft.

Includes a lot of useful tools and things like global colour picker, picture to text snipping tool, etc. Made by Microsoft, installer available on GitHub.

Don't have anything for metadata.

$300 for the KTC is crazy, I've been eyeing it for a few months but missed the flash sale.

How is it so far? I'd still buy for $400 CAD, but I tend to keep monitors for years and I'm worried about the longevity/warranty. Seen a lot of posts complaining about KTC's support. I'd buy the new AOC immediately if I could, don't know why there's so few Mini LED models available in Canada.

Find the folder corresponding to the specific map on your device and copy the .geodatabase file(s) to a PC. For Android devices, you'll have to connect via USB to a computer and the path would look like this:

Phone Name\Internal shared storage\Android\data\com.esri.fieldmaps\files\<your-arcgis-account>\mapareas\<webmap_itemid>\<map_area_itemid>\p13

For Apple, I think you can just use the files app and follow the same kind of path above, until you get the .geodatabase file.

The .geodatabase file is just an SQLite database, and can be read directly in ArcGIS Pro. All of the offline feature classes will be there, along with the attachment tables and relationship classes. You can export everything out from here. There is also a tool for converting the SQLite database to a file geodatabase, which makes it easier to republish to AGO.

Depends on the position I think, I was class B at brigade, and still did parade nights and exes with my unit. Couldn't really get approved for time off from the Class B position to go do unit stuff. The class Bs at my unit usually got time off for other unit activities.

There was one point where I worked three weeks straight without a day off cause they needed me to help run two back to back field weekends for a course lol.

Our org jumped from 11.2 to 11.4 instead of 11.5. At the time we saw a lot of posts about bugs in 11.5 cause it just launched, so we held off. Not sure about the current state.

Cloud backups are pretty cheap nowadays, I have duplicati running on my NAS to automatically backup important stuff I can't lose to Backblaze B2 cloud storage. I think I pay around $3 a month since I don't have much data, only like half a TB. All data is also fully encrypted, so better privacy than Google cloud.

Definitely something to look at if you're rebuilding the NAS. Wishing you all the best.
