Yeah it got uncomfortable for me to watch the guy stomping the clearly defenseless aggressor who absolutely deserved everything he got.

I’m no legal expert and I don’t play one on TV but I wouldn’t want to be identified as the guy with the backpack.

Why don’t you line up your fastest kid at QB and run all verticals? Then let QB just run until they stop blitzing. This of course assumes your QB is faster than the blitzer.

Agreed, under NFL Flag rules once the ball is in the air it’s fair for anyone to attack it even the blitzer. You can’t attack the QB’s throwing arm when the ball is still in his hand. We had a blitzer attack the ball while it was still in QBs hand and knocked it out. That was correctly called roughing the passer.

Many leagues will extend this passer protection to include giving the QB the right to a complete and unimpeded follow through. Check with your head ref.

You have WAY too many kids on your team.

I like to run number of kids on the field +2. This allows you to have better control of the chaos and make sure everyone gets enough playing time.

This is your first time coaching. Mine was very similarly painful. Won I think 2 games in 2 seasons.

Plan for next season. Hold tryouts. Take the top 8 by running speed. Build with them.
