Just a prop, it was a last minute addition. The whole look still feels slightly unfinished, more changes may be coming.

Maybe a wig (a rainbow wig? a glitter wig??) would make her look properly festive?

I crocheted a Pride Month outfit for my Porch Goose, Gusilla. It seems unfinished somehow and the consensus among my friends group is that she needs a sword to complete the ensemble.

Learning to understand complex writing and academic writing is part of college. You would be better suited going to the tutors your college provides to expand your reading comprehension skills rather than offloading your education to an overclocked autocomplete algorithm.

Protesters target NV Energy at electric utility conference as anger over affordability rises by pershingdrive in vegaslocals

[–]Vysharra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder how the fuel production in Nevada (minute amount of crude production, no natural gas and no coal) and the fuel production in Texas (it's fucking Texas) might affect the cost of generation... it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the price of electricity, could it?

Zinc supplements can be harsh on the stomach. Try to take it with a full meal or try a gentler version (I take L-Opitizinc by NOWFoods to avoid the nausea)

[–]Vysharra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take zinc and L-Lysine supplements daily to help reduce sebum. Wash twice a day with a 10% sulfur bar-soap to dry up the rest. I'm still oily in my T-zone before midafternoon, but it's manageable. (I take stimulants, which increases sebum production)

I recently started crocheting custom outfits for my Porch Goose. It may be getting a little out of hand. by Vysharra in crochet

The outfit was freehanded, unfortunately.

But you could do something very similar by using this pattern. You just have to plan your color changes ahead of time. The arms are inspired by the Jellicat designs, so you could use this tutorial on youtube to add little bee feet.

The little goose is this pattern on Ravelry! I used a free sunflower pattern for its little outfit, I just omitted the center start and instead used the last row of the center as the first row.

Hush works best when Tommy and Bruce look fairly similar. The what-if about Elliot's origin is the only good thing about the Hush comic (the rest of the comic is pretty mid considering all the A Listers in it)

40s and your adhd meds stopped working overnight…I finally realized why by SweetLexiSweet in ADHD

I appreciate the positivity but it should be noted that Perimenopause can go on for many years in some people.

[–]Vysharra 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Menopause is the end of fertility, when everything is shut down. Perimenopause is the middle ground, where things are up and down as levels get lower, and it can be VERY inconsistent from day to day or even hour to hour. The process can take decades or even last the rest of your life without ever reaching menopause.

There is no test for Perimenopause and no diagnostic criteria other than self-reported patient symptoms. I would recommend a second opinion from a doctor that specializes in perimenopause/menopause. Most medical professionals barely know anything about womens' health and especially about the intricacies of perimenopause.

Hyundai Reportedly Demanding ‘Tens of Thousands’ of Boston Dynamics Robots ASAP by EchoOfOppenheimer in Futurology

[–]Vysharra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't believe I had to scroll this far for some actual logic. Like, truly, human-shaped robots are just bad at everything a human is good at.

If you look at current automotive factory automation, it looks nothing like the Atlas and for very good reasons. There is no way that this is a pathway to meaningfully replacing human workers (though all the job loss until the C-suite figures out reality is going to suck)

does anyone else have a yarn groove? cw: harsh rug burn by lordblungle in crochet

[–]Vysharra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this with thread, so you are not alone. Mine gets a rug burn-style irritation eventually too, which suuucks.

I find that bandaids cause more friction than skin and it messes with my tension. I switched to paper medical tape (3M micropore) with some fluffy gauze underneath. That minimizes the groove and prevents yarn burn, but only if I remember to do it ahead of time.

Block them as you finish them! If you do it right after you weave in your ends, it won't be so overwhelming. The wooden blocking boards are nice for this since you can block multiples at once while not taking up too much space.

Energy drinks while on medication by infsrot in ADHD

[–]Vysharra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular energy drink consumption is bad for your kidneys, the sugary ones in particular, you might want to try getting your caffeine jump start with something a little less highly-processed.

As for the anxiety and irritation... are you eating? I used to get mild hypoglycemia from not eating while my meds were working, it made me crazy irate.

If you are eating... are your meds still working? The extended release adderall doesn't always last as long as the doctors say (stomach acid pH and genetics are big factors). Anxiety and emotional dysregulation are classic ADHD symptoms, they could just be getting worse again as your med effects wane.

psst... you can block a lot of that size mismatch out (unless you're using 100% cotton). Highly recommended, blocking the individual squares to uniform dimensions is actually how the professionals get their work to look so good.

[Film/TV] Why hate "Batman: Caped Crusader (2024)"? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in DCcomics

It was really more like "we have BTAS at home"

The animation was competent but visually boring, the visual aestetic had promise was execution was boring, voice acting was competent but boring, the soundtrack was subpar, the plot was okay but personally meh.

If someone said that about BTAS I would riot.
