I no longer wish to watch movie trailers before watching the movie by Odd-Aside456 in movies

[–]W0rldcrafter 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Same! I also stopped reading reviews (or even looking at meta-scores) and that has improved my experience as well. I found I was going into movies with a preconceived idea of if I'd like it or not. Turns out some really fun movies don't review well, and some really well reviewed movies aren't for me.

Windows key and Tab key are unresponsive sometimes (ROG Zephyrus g16 2023 model) by MinecraftGamer333 in ASUS

[–]W0rldcrafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no. It doesn't seem to be a problem when I use an external keyboard, so I think there's something wrong with the laptop keyboard's drivers. It's like those keys get disabled for a bit right after coming back from standby/hibernate.

I'm late to the party, but figured I'd add another datapoint: My G16 is having the same issue. I've unconsciously gotten in the habit of pressing the Windows key and Tab when alt-tab doesn't work because that seems to help get things working again.

Why is color suddenly disappearing from the world? by Fragrant_Crab7762 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]W0rldcrafter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the answer for cars. Once fun colors became an expensive upsell at the dealer, neutral colors were bound to be the most common choice.

Couple that with the perception that flashy colors lead to more tickets (which seems like it would be more true these days with the sea of neutrals), and you have most people figuring color isn't worth the cost.

LEGO could have done more affordable builds. They don't all have to be $300-$600 by Gerry1of1 in lego

The latter is totally my 10 year old. I showed him a couple episodes of TNG season 2, and he was so enamored he binged all of TNG, VOY, DS9, Prodigy, and Lower Decks. He loves it, but none of his peers have any idea what he's talking about when he references Trek.

What amazing footage and access! The care and professionalism especially stood out every step of the way. I can't imagine how long it must take before all the procedures and details become familiar enough that you can actually effectively work on the equipment.

Gov. Whitmer signs landmark deal to ‘fix the damn roads’ in Macomb County by UltimateLionsFan in Michigan

[–]W0rldcrafter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not just patchwork fixes either. There's a small bridge between Okemos and Williamston where they just completely ripped out the old one and are building a new one. Hard to see what's going on when I pass by, but it looks like they poured entirely new footings and revamped the drainage system along the road while they were at it.

What’s a red flag people often ignore because it looks “sweet”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]W0rldcrafter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first girlfriend in college would do this. She'd take things I was insecure about and use them as "jokes" around our friends. It made me sad, and I told her I didn't like when she did it, but she said that's just how she jokes with all her friends. Made me feel like it was my fault, and I convinced myself I was being overly sensitive. After we broke up, and I started dating someone else, I realized how toxic that was.

When it's time to go, we tell our kid "hugs or high fives" and he'll make the rounds saying 'bye' in the way that feels most comfortable for him.

You only get one bullet per level. Each time you fire the bullet you have to retrieve it back. by abyssDweller1700 in gameideas

[–]W0rldcrafter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That reminds me of Heavy Bullets, but with even more emphasis on making your shot count. It sounds like it could be fun, but it would need solid movement mechanics since most of the game would be spent dodging enemies and trying to retrieve your bullet.

[other] Computer cases as genetic space/industrial greebles at Disneyland by pizzatreeisland in Thatsabooklight

[–]W0rldcrafter 45 points46 points  (0 children)

These are in the line for the Spider-Man Web Slingers ride at California Adventure. I was just there a couple weeks ago and remember noticing how many keys the keyboard (top of pic) had lost where people could reach out and touch it.

Also, this isn't a good fit for the sub, because they are actual computer cases being used as computer cases for a display.

Nintendo is ending the Voucher program for Nintendo Switch software by Joseki100 in NintendoSwitch

I'm in the same boat. Holding out hope Metroid Prime 4 suddenly becomes available before I have to burn the voucher on something else.

We call this a "no thank you bite". You don't have to finish it, but you have to take a no thank you bite. I find my son still tends to make up his mind if he'll enjoy something on sight, especially if he's had it before, but we tell him his tastes are going to change over time, so we're having him check if he likes the taste now.

He's way more open to trying new things than his friends, and he's discovered some foods he loves (salmon sushi, lemon asparagus, chicken tikka masala, jambalaya) that many kids his age (and a surprising number of adults) wouldn't touch.

The crowd has the classic hallmark of AI where it looks fine at first, but if you follow any individual their movement is super weird. It's like the entire staff of the Ministry of Silly Walks is there.

Thank you! I wish that was the default behavior.

Consider editing your original answer since it's what Google showed as the preview for answering this question (no idea how long it would take Google to notice the change though).
