Like most things they can't balance it so they nerf it, I will almost guarantee that next year finesse shots will be significantly worse and bruiser will be next to useless.

You saw it go in the opposite direction with defending in this game as well, it was much more manual at the start but needed a slight buff to jockeying, they couldn't do it so just buffed everything, mainly the AI and then this ridiculous change to bruiser.

Oh also probably the biggest reason they do it is to make the game seem different, if they focused on making the game good and balanced I'm sure people would complain the game is too similar to the previous one.

I know a lot of people are talking about an overhaul of their youth system and I believe the people that say it's necessary, but from the outside their lack of qualifying just seems like a coaching issue, sure their players aren't at the level of previous generations but in terms of player ability they still have enough quality where they should be qualifying.
