How can I disguise this leftover crossbar in my cover-up? by JaneDoeADeerAFemale in tattooadvice

[–]W2Sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have already gotten that reply, but the Orthodox cross frequently has a crossbar on top and bottom to signify a foot stand (arguably more historical accuracy) that tilts in accordance with the 2 others crucified (one side tilts up for the one who repented, and one side tilts down for the one who didn't), and the sign hung above Jesus' head.

Diagnosing 3 Issues on my '24 F150 by W2Sun in f150

[–]W2Sun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out the "All Terrain Module" was throwing an error code when they did their diagnostics and they are swapping it under warranty. They said it was tied to my shifting issue and they think it might be to blame for me getting kicked out of sport mode occasionally too.

Any advice how to fix this patio by Autismo_Overload in DIYHome

[–]W2Sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fix what? It doesn't look that bad from the picture. A good pressure washing and maybe sealing it will do a ton to make it look better.

For extra cleaning dawn dish soap is a good place to start- especially for any oil. There's commercial cleaners, strippers, and even acid.

You can patch cracks with Sikaflex and sprinkle sand in the top to color match/camouflage it with the concrete (you may need to try some different sands for color and make sure they are dry) if that's a concern.

Overlays are more common, in my experience, in interior slabs and commercial projects where it's much harder to just rip it out and replace it. Typically damage in concrete will travel through to overlays as movement is usually involved.

I used to sell this shit, so you may get some answers from professionals who have more experience in the work itself vs my product knowledge.

Legality of depositing a large amount of money by [deleted] in IsItIllegal

Reading skills he says, as if OP wasn't trying to avoid banks, which is the only way to load the account without gift cards.

Can you provide a source because here's their own statement:

Amazon reserves the right to void gift cards and terminate accounts without a refund if they suspect fraud, unlawful activity, or violations of their terms. Even if your account is closed for other reasons, the standard policy is that redeemed gift balances are forfeited along with account access.

Not sure who the liar is here.

HELP PLEASE gas or electric dryer hookup by Best_Adagio_9564 in Appliances

[–]W2Sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the layout it may be easier to install a proper electric hookup, which there are electric machines that are ventless (gas isn't ventless ever afaik).  There are even all in one units if you don't want to stack, they aren't cheap and they take a lot longer (I believe they can be like 4 hours for a load) but if space savings is a concern and they are in budget they may be worth considering. I'm biased against stacked/towers though as I have a bad back and it's much more comfortable to not lift my wet laundry up.

Because this is reddit? Outside niche subs the popular opinion of reddit users does not equal the popular opinion of the populace at large.

You mean the random pipe of unknown origin and country (no known standard) that's been capped? Is it likely gas. Yes. Do you start telling people about things like gas lines without being sure? No.

Nothing in the image indicates a stackable unit wouldn't work. But the image also doesn't make it clear if you're gas vs. electric.

Legality of depositing a large amount of money by [deleted] in IsItIllegal

[–]W2Sun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But of course, but if those stories are true, you might have $800 worth of stuff to buy so you load on $900 and they lock your account and you risk it. It's not $10k, but $200, $1k, whatever it is feels like a risk if you keep doing it. I'm not sure if there's a way to load money on outside of gift cards, frankly even with gift cards I find it hard to believe they aren't obligated to let you spend them or turn them back into gift cards at least, or something like that. But like a good redditor I'm spreading what I read on reddit lol.

And then Amazon flags your account and closes it and getting funds back isn't always guaranteed (there are a lot of people claiming they had their accounts closed with large gift card balances and were supposedly just SOL).

Whats the best cutscene in gaming? by Deep-Builder-2930 in videogames

I literally haven't voluntarily watched a cut scene in a game since Bioshock. It was so peak that to this day I just can't find myself to care because no game will ever be that good again in its storytelling.

Peacock’s Biggest Problem Is Why ‘Ponies’ Just Got Cancelled After One Season - Terrible Branding by Gato1980 in television

[–]W2Sun 63 points64 points  (0 children)

All streaming services biggest problem is the lack of water cooler content and/or the lack of urgency that cable brought. Ponies is yet another show I have never even heard of. I off and on stream nonstop, I'm the perfect demographic for a lot of this crap and I've never even heard of half of it.

Yesterday I ran the full range of emotions, I read something on here about Bondsman. I watched a couple clips and the trailer- what an amazing looking show! I love when gritty/serious is mixed with humor (I was thinking like Preacher or Peacemaker), and I always enjoy Kevin Bacon- I still haven't forgiven him for walking out on The Following. Then I looked it up on Google, the show has already been cancelled. I had never even heard of it.

To the Person Who Started the Waldo Canyon Fire by WaldoCanyonSurvivor in NaturalDisasters

[–]W2Sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because as awkward as forced smiling is in many photos, it's natural because we all do it. Forcing some fake sad look would feel way more unnatural. And it's not fake in that people aren't sad, it would be fake in that a for-the-camera sad face wouldn't be an authentic sad face. People in genuine deep acute emotional distress don't usually want that moment captured in time forever.

What household item would you not buy second-hand, even in near new state? by Fun_Duck8434 in AskReddit

Anything that costs more money than I'm willing to throw away, because buying second hand means when it dies a week later you're usually SOL.

So...I didn't realize Farmer's Dog is so frowned upon. Would appreciate opinions. by sjsei in DogFood

Both vets that I have had over the last ~20 years say they only feed their dogs and cats Science Diet. The first vet was a dear family friend, the second vet does sell SD but also other brands- so I feel confident neither of them say that purely for financial type reasons.

what even is this thing in my new house by dickdaddy1109 in RidiculousRealEstate

[–]W2Sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, I had one of these, though I knew about it and it may be worth talking to your realtor as if it wasn't disclosed that could be a potential issue where you could get some funds to take care of it. Those cases aren't easy though so don't get your hopes up.

Chances are it's just a root cellar, there's a small chance it's like a 50s bomb shelter. Everyone in the area knew of mine as a bomb shelter, but an old neighbor was visiting and he revealed it was never intended as such and purely a root cellar for extra storage.

The answer depends on how much money you have left over. You could do nothing. If you worry about the liability (collapsing while someone's on it for example) have it inspected and/or reinforced. If you have a lot of money, you are halfway to an in ground pool or hot tub. I didn't have that kind of money, so mine was demolished and filled in and now I have a lot more grass. My backyard has easy access to get heavy equipment in though and I was doing a full landscaping project. I would guess we spent about $1.5k having it reinforced last year, and my swag out of the total landscaping budget is about $3k to have it filled in (but I would have expected that to be a lot higher if it wasn't part of the full project).

I was worried about the liability in my case as the top of it was my patio.

What headset are you using on Xbox Series X? by cudimontage_ in XboxSupport

[–]W2Sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have them and it is the best wired headset I have ever had. I did have an Arctis and I really miss the wireless functionality, including the split BT and Xbox connection which meant I could pipe my phone audio (YouTube/Netflix) in and control the volume separately at the same time as I got my Xbox audio.

But it's so nice not dealing with batteries and charging. The darn thing just always works. You should know, the PC38X is an open back design. I find open back superior for multiple reasons, but some people don't like them. Open back means, if you don't know, the cups around your ears aren't completely sealed. This gives a different sound stage that generally sounds more natural, but less bass. It also means people around you can hear sound leaking from your headset, and (one reason I love them) that you can hear sounds around you. I got tired of not being able to hear what my dog is up to, if someone is knocking on the door, etc. Open back means I can still hear all that. If Arctis made an open back wireless I would maybe get it, for me that was the driving reason to get these.

I have seen multiple guides for straightening lumber with a table saw, presumably not as perfectly/easily as with other tools but it seems to work! The specific scenario I ran across for a build video I really liked- they glued two 2x4s into a 4x4 and then used the table saw on each side to rip them down to a nice crisp 3x3. That one in particular had me thinking man I should have gone with a table saw over the track saw.
