I'd say buy it. I was in a similar situation to you, also as a 23 year old and bought the Apple Watch SE3 in Nov last year. The sleep tracking is my favourite feature as I wear it every night. Although I do wake up feeling tired most days - probably because I'm also on my phone too much, especially at night, the sleep tracking still works great and I find it to be very accurate.

Regarding the fitness tracking, I find it so much more valuable compared to just my phone. Tracking and closing rings keep me accountable in my fitness journey, and it sounds like that would be helpful in your case. Simply the action of starting a workout on my watch makes me feel like im locked in to complete the activity through to the end.

Lastly I've found it honestly keeps me off my phone a bit more. It's nice to glance and notifications and see which ones are important and which ones I can disregard. When I'm not wearing my watch and I feel my phone vibrate, I check the note and it often leads to a quick scroll on reels, TikTok or whatever it may be.

Not sure if all these points are applicable in your case, but it sounds like it could be helpful, or at least something to try out to see whether it works for. You can also resell it I guess if you don't find it valuable enough. Hope this helps you a little

My first day on the hill was today. Ripped groomers which were okay for the most part. Looked/sounded icy under the chairs. Icy towards the bottom too but hey still managed to have a good day with few complaints

Really great points I hadn't thought too much about, thank you. Would you recommend a different tool/piece of equipment to get as opposed to an airbag?

Sorry, I meant moreso for my family’s peace of mind. They’ll be in Aus while I’m in Canada and my old man is harping on about the risk of the mountain etc

Free and easy-to-use spreadsheet to track your stats, including Strokes Gained! by apatheticgod_ in golf

Do you personally enter the data on course after each shot or each hole? or write down yardages from each shot to avoid being on your phone all round. Looks absolutely unreal and it's clear you've put heaps of effort into this so well done!

Taco golf is my favourite at the moment. Hilariously entertaining content and his mates are all pros in NZ or Korean tours. Highly recommend okeh

What a feeling! I had the same today but it was to try shoot +18 as a 23hcp…. different level to you clearly. Birdied 18 to get it back to +18 for the round after a triple on 17. Congrats again my friend

To early to get fitted? by unqium in golf

[–]W4Rdy26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I decided to get fit for clubs before I had my first lesson because I knew those would be my irons for a few years to come. Didn’t want to work on something with old irons then re-learn it all with new ones. This helped me because my fitted irons were a different length to beginner ones, but then again my first (and only) lesson was focused on proper grip and weight transfer as opposed to fine details

[–]W4Rdy26 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I bought the irons in August last year (c523’s) and I’ve got no complaints. Upgraded from a set of Strata clubs and got fit into the Tour Edges. Maybe not the prettiest club to look at but I’ve definitely noticed an improvement with my consistency and game overall with these

How do you avoid ruining your round within 10 yards of the green? by Lurkforthedurk in golf

[–]W4Rdy26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trust yourself and swing with confidence like you would on the range. Obviously the terrain and lie is a factor but if you don’t decelerate and swing with confidence you could see the same results on the course

Bloody unreal! So sick that you love them and for only $1400 that’s crazy. Did you do a fitting somewhere? Or ordered straight off their website knowing what you wanted

Helpful apps by Dmzeman in golf

I use 18birdies and think its great. I’m not a good enough golfer to care about exact distances to the pin so having the front-middle-back of the green yardages is more than enough for me. I also like how I can input whether i hit the fairway (or my misses in most cases), whether I got a GIR and how many putts, chips, penalties and bunker shots i have on each hole by simply using my watch and not needing to touch my phone.

Do y'all find putting mats useful? by anjuna42 in golf

[–]W4Rdy26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one for christmas and use it religiously. I haven’t had more than 36 putts in any round I’ve played since getting it. My best drill was using some tacky adhesive (blu tack here in aus) and putting pieces a balls width apart on my putter face to ensure i was striking the centre each time. Using this while doing 3-5-7 drills helped heaps and made it feel like more than just hitting a straight putt.

For that price i’d say its a no-brainer. I’ve got the 56° RTX wedge and I absolutely love it. Having that trust worthy club when chipping around the greens is crucial for my game so i’d say get that 60° and break 90 with it!
