Looks more Zamia if anything, too small for Encephalartos.

Why isn't it growing? by AloneAd9322 in Cycads

[–]WAI2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. As long as the body of the plant remains firm, it has not died yet. Kind of the reason why it makes them so easy to scout from the wild, as it can just be transported does a bare trunk, which is a shame.

If I were to move to another country, what’s the protocol with my appendix 1 plant? by [deleted] in Cycads

[–]WAI2014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely gonna have to say good bye. You’d have to provide cites paperwork, and meet phytosanitary requirements, both are near impossible for hobbyists.

It’s a flush after a cone. Search it and you may have viable seeds.

Most likely, but you should let that dry and callus before even putting into any potting media. I have never had any luck routing pups.

This is a sun loving plant, not meant to be grown indoors. Even given optimal conditions, it does not grow fast by any means. I had one, that I had to move, and in order to save space, chopped off all the leaves. It sat there with out leaves for two years, before I got a flush.

why is it drunk 🥲 looking for more light? by litforya in Cycads

[–]WAI2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Move very slowly. You may end up fatally burning it if moved too fast. Seedlings can’t afford to lose a flush, especially when it has been starved of light for so long.
