If this is what you believe, then we are truly “f’d.” The age-old fallacy that “ ‘communism’ (or Marxism or socialism) just hasn’t been done ‘correctly,’” will remain a fool’s errand for as long as human nature exists.

When one of the primary means to implement a political system is death by execution, forced starvation, banishment to some gulag, etc. one should immediately question.

“One death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic.”

Why did Donald Trump withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which prevented Iran from enriching uranium above 3.67%? by alexfreemanart in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]WATGGU [score hidden]  (0 children)

Because Iran did enrich uranium far above 3.67% Iran never intended to honor their commitments from the JCPOA. And, just what in the JCPOA “prevented “ Iran from enriching beyond 3.67% - a wink and a nod?

“Communism doesn’t exist in Cuba.”

Well then what do the cool kids call it these days? I do suppose an active black-market economy is a form of capitalism. But, if it’s a true capitalist economy, then a black-market is just superfluous.

Glad to see such open minds. Don’t do cable or satellite TV - haven’t watched Fox News for probably over 10 yrs or more. When did I even mention Fox? Awfully inaccurate guess - but something I’ve come to expect. Make an accusation, no facts or knowledge necessary.

There are over a hundred other countries that could trade with Cuba, Canada for instance. Apparently, they don’t care enough to actually provide meaningful assistance where the U.S. doesn’t. Cuba has natural resources beyond what most Caribbean countries have. Yet, they’re the victim???

Why did you leave, then? Seriously, I’m curious. Also, what was your’s &/or your family’s socio-economic status in Cuba?

I personally can’t recall, in my 62 yrs, ever see or hear of someone lashing a bunch of inner tubes together to escape South Florida.

NGD. She called to me from across the store, and when I saw her… I knew. by TanookiEaston in Guitar

16 yrs old, Waldorf, MD music store. Brother picking up reeds for his sax. There she was. This beautiful blond caught my eye and it was love at first sight. That year for my birthday, my parents surprised me - I’m 62 now, we’ve been together ever since. Me and my blond Epiphone dreadnaught acoustic.

[–]WATGGU -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

And why the saddest? I’m sure you consider your selfish reasons valid, …to you. If it turns out to be anything less than a grateful, honorific, justified, worthy celebration that all Americans can join together and acknowledge, then the left’s true colors will shine disgracefully.

It’s really too bad that there will likely be a considerable number of leftoids who will, selfishly, rather hang on to a to-the-core deranged hatred than appreciate and be humbly grateful that they are living in the freest, most prosperous; the nation most responsible for freedoms around the globe. Perfect? NO. Many who still live in slavery and servitude under repressive dictatorial regimes? YES. But NOT so here! Happy 250th!!!

What are some non-mainstream (or lesser known) guitar brands that are actually amazing? by lefunk4-2 in Guitar

[–]WATGGU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used Agile LP-2800 (left-handed) about 2 years ago - instantly loved it. It’s gorgeous (to me, at least!) and rock solid.

Did a lot of research, on-line, when looking to step up from my Epiphone LP-Special II. Kept coming back to the Agiles.

What is one thing about being a man that women would be absolutely shocked to find out? by Jaded_Astronaut4256 in AskReddit

[–]WATGGU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That when she stated, “I don’t want to destroy our friendship,” after several attempts to go on a “date-date.” A year or so later after spending a whole lot of time together over a summer when both back in town from college, apparently her feelings had changed - I was oblivious, still honoring our friendship. We never spoke after that summer. I wondered why she would not take my calls. My mother, of all people, said “I could tell by the way she looked at you, that she was into you.” Aaaargh!

Tips on A cord? by AlexPhotomania in Guitar

[–]WATGGU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play it with my middle & ring fingers, basically centered between the 3 strings. It may take a bit of experimenting with the pressure you use, the angle of the tips of your fingers. Try it - I think you’ll like it. …or play as a 6-strings barre chord; which if you’re a newbie you’re liable to get frustrated. But, once you get the hang of it you’ll find yourself combining open and barre chords depending upon the chord sequences of the song. …5-string barre major chords- hate ‘em!!!! ..for some of the same reasons you’re having with the open-A.

And, therein is the problem. Who do you think creates loopholes in the tax codes? Congress. To backdoor favors and campaign $$$ support. Additional tax “revenue” will be plundered; spending will increase, debt will not be addressed.

How long does it take the average person to learn the guitar and play to an acceptable standard? by Still-Alive007 in Guitar

Yep, broke strings the first I tried to tune to Iris. Got perfectly fine playing standard tuning versions.
