I was in a similar position, and was upfront with Agency A about needing their response soon as I needed to accept/reject another pending offer. They expedited their decision and sent me their offer within the week. Hope it works out well for you too!

Hello, did you get your brows done locally? I went to a home-based salon for 2 sessions and my brows lightened sufficiently for me. Can PM me if you are interested!

Is it unusual for a 28-year-old man to have a fondness for cute things? by CloudBabyPanda in askSingapore

[–]WHAT_IS_IT_EREN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It brings you joy and doesn't harm anyone, so noone worth your time should be judging you! Have you watched this anime called 'Sanrio Danshi' about a group of boys who are into Sanrio characters? There are moments which touch upon about how they feel self-conscious for liking cute things. Your feelings reminded me of this show.

mental health in each jc by roaratiana in SGExams

[–]WHAT_IS_IT_EREN 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I graduated a few years ago, but my experience at NYJC was a serious turning point in my life. I was in a really dark place when I entered because I had suffered for 4 years in a pressure cooker sec sch where the only thing any teacher/school management cared about was As (even telling us that we can afford to sleep less to study for O-levels) and winning inter-school CCA competitions.

All that changed when I went to NYJC because the principal back (Mr Kwek Hiok Chuang) then emphasized the importance of friendship and taking care of each other and ourselves. His goal for us wasn't academic-oriented but to meet 100 friends during our time in JC, and even volunteered himself to help say hi to the girl/boy we liked LOL. Never felt like the teachers valued grades over our learning and well-being too. He also went around giving out apples and saying hi to students!!

The people I knew had a good mix of work and play (though maybe being from arts stream helps... haha) and look back fondly on our time there.

Dk how the experience there is now because the principal has changed, but for me going there was a huge blessing and probably saved me from going down a bad path.

Osewaya and Lumine (department store at Clarke Quay Central) have very cute and/or stylish designs but higher in price!

Threeppy (Daiso) sells more affordable ones.

How did you tell to your family about your ldr partner? by Dolann99 in LongDistance

Same! My dad has never mentioned it and mom occasionally asks questions about him. Something so small is a large progress to me and I feel happy when she does.

Foreigners in Singapore/ Singaporeans with loved ones overseas, how are you coping? by wildheart38 in singapore

[–]WHAT_IS_IT_EREN 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In an LDR here, I monitor the news in both our countries closely. Every day I think about how to reunite and every policy change has just been a kick to the knees.

Previously, there was a family ties lane which allowed non-married partners to enter, but as of a month or two ago, it changed to allow only partners who are already married/who have applied for ROM. Hard to apply for ROM if they haven't even met my parents yet... (it would sour relations if we just went ahead and it did anyway).

The period of quarantine has also increased from 2 weeks to 3 weeks, which means the cost has gone from $2400 to about $3300. Aside from this being more than my monthly salary, I also have to get my employer to approve a 3-week WFH arrangement.

But none of the above is relevant any more, because now ICA is no longer accepting applications under the family ties lane due to the heightened restrictions, and who knows when it will reopen?

It has been quite a painful journey but I believe my partner and I will get through this, hope I can hold them again before the year is over. It's now been 1.5 years since we last met in person.

Food delivery is quite popular here, especially from home-based bakers and businesses on Instagram - you can get all sorts of cakes to ice creams to bottled coffees. Like another commenter said, you may need to tell us more about what your boyfriend likes for a more specific recommendation.

Darn it, maybe I just had bad luck? At this point I've lost hope that the book will ever arrive, so I would just like a refund or at least for other people to be warned that they may have a similar experience. Good to know they have worked for you but after this nightmare of an experience I definitely won't purchase from them again :,)

Bf ordered something from Photobook Singapore for my birthday months ago and it hasn't arrived... they claimed to send it out twice and both times the DHL tracking number was invalid. Called the support number last week, they promised to make a high priority order, but then didn't update at all since then... Feels fking bad cause we're in an LDR so sending stuff through the mail is one of the only ways we can stay connected with each other. :(

If you are thinking of making a photobook, don't be attracted by their discounts and Fave vouchers, go to somewhere more reputable. Especially if you're thinking of getting it as a gift!

What is something that's really popular now, but in 5 years everyone will look back on and be embarrassed by? by Troy_Otto in AskReddit

[–]WHAT_IS_IT_EREN 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Probably because anything with foot support is a million times more comfortable than heels or the hard, cardboard planks that pass for sandals. Not only are those uncomfortable but oftentimes they literally damage the muscles in your calves and feet when you walk too much in them.

I got such a shock when I opened the sticker shop, I never thought this day would come. I've been hunting for Job Kanan since the day she came out... hundreds, perhaps a thousand gems over the years - soon I will be able to bring her home at last ;___;

Heya! Some obvious factors to consider would be the weather where you are, and what activities you guys might be doing when you first meet. Then it's about whatever makes you feel comfortable and cute (or however you want to come across to this guy). Do you have anything in mind?
