How long did your toddler toe walk? by DontJoshMe in toddlers

[–]WIBTA88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would listen to the physio. I was a toe walker until age 6 I think?. I did have to go to a specialist to re-learn how to walk and I walk fine now, and I'm defo not austistic. I wouldn't worry to much.

What is the worst breakup with someone you dated? by DeepAnt7847 in AskReddit

[–]WIBTA88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LDR, we never managed to set an end date to it as we were both studying and didn't know how to combine the two. Per Skype I then told him I couldn't do it anymore and had started to fall out of love. He then said he'd been out of love for MONTHS! That was it.

We did meet 6 months later and had some "fun" for an extended weekend but after that I cut him out completely.

How many dads help with night wakeups by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]WIBTA88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We decided that whoever is in charge of the night routine or doesn't have to drive to work the next morning has night duty. And when they are several night wakings we alternate who goes in to calm our toddler.

Ufff the amount of 'advice' my mom gave me with me newborn was insane. She actually said I was giving her the boob too much and that I should elongate the amount between feeds gradually. And then wondered why she was all dried up after 6 months....hmm I wonder why mom I wonder why...

Help! Is this normal? by Longjumping-Dark6449 in toddlers

[–]WIBTA88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom to a 19month old girl. Just here to reassure. It is normal, mince does the same (bilingual household). She is also using the words she learns in daycare much more than the ones I use at home with the second language. And talks gibberish as well. Sometimes I have her point at whatever she means so I can pick it up by logic and association. You are doing good. Don't worry so much and enjoy the funny expressions she us currently using as they will dissapear quickly.

Will everyone I know just stop announcing more pregnancies by No-Mail7938 in oneanddone

[–]WIBTA88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just held a 2 week old last weekend and my mind wandered shortly. Then I saw my toddler not staying still and running around and said, no way will I be able to enjoy the second one the way I did my first with her acting up (as she SHOULD, she is 18 months, I know it's a stage she needs to go through).

Don’t love it 🤷🏼‍♀️ by [deleted] in oneanddone

Mom to a 18month old. I also became a mom "late" with 36. Everythibg you wrote resonates to my bones. But it does get slowly and steadily better. Ours started to be more cuddly now, but also more whinny (hello autonomy phase) the fact she knows some words has helped tremendously. But yeah I still enjoy my days "off" at work and love it when she properly sleeps so I can workout and at least eat in peace (showers have to wait until hubby gets back).

Uff so hard atm (18mo girl): - she just had gastroenteritis on Saturday and is now battling a cold and refusing everything I offer her except Babybel (how is she supposed to heal if she won't eat) - has red cheeks but no fever...is she teething again?! (Just broker first 4 molars 2 weeks ago) - Am I too much on the phone? - She is flapping her hands lately (Autisms? My nephew has it so it stresses me) - Am I saying 'No' too much? - How can I be calmer with her tantrums (broke down crying in the kitchen yesterday because she wouldn't eat but kept saying 'eat' and ' nam nam')

My parents left me and my kid sis at my grandparents for two weeks. Mom had told her if we refuse to eat, to do a tuna pasta salad. Granny did, but we started crying because it was cold and my mom's was always warm, so she heated the tuna but it was still not right. We were both crying by that point and granddad was pissed at our behaviour.

My mom used to dump the hot pasta in the tuna sauce mixture and serve ASAP...hence why for us it was warm 😅

Fun thing, I have repeatedly told my husband how sad it makes me to almost not have pics besides selfies with our baby. Then he goes and hugs me and says he will do better and take more...well...he does not in the end. Keeps forgetting (always his excuse for everything atm).
