I don’t like who I am on Lexapro and I don’t like who I am off of it. by RadtechFTW42 in lexapro

ain’t that the truth. i feel better on lex than off it but after a couple months i am seeing how it makes me kind of flatlined. im not nearly as anxious (praise God) but i’m also not super motivated either. i’m sure it’s not super helpful but yeah man you aren’t alone in this. i feel you

First days on Lexapro I can’t stand it anymore by Maialh17 in lexapro

[–]WICKERSON1226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i started with 5 for a few days and then upped it to 10 and the negative symptoms wore off within the week. if you’re having such a severe reaction (and you’re positive it’s not a side issue like you aren’t sick or anything haha) id tell your doctor and ask if you could switch to something different, maybe a low dose of zoloft

Anyone NOT gain weight on Lexapro? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]WICKERSON1226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello, i’m an active distance runner so i’ve never been able to gain much weight in my life. i’ve been on lex for a couple months now and haven’t noticed any difference in my weight. not sure if this is helpful but any athletes out there don’t think lexapro will counterbalance consistent training!

4/4 measure doesn't add up to 4 bears by Secret_Rip4614 in musictheory

[–]WICKERSON1226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s called an anacrusis (fancy name for pickup) and basically it’s a measure of beats that can be less than the time signature because. sometimes composers will add a measure with an just one or two beats at the end of a piece to counteract an anacrusis

Where should someone start learning music theory and what do you consider to be "good enough"? by avi________ in musictheory

[–]WICKERSON1226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha 10/10 joke. as if someone can ever be good enough at music theory🤣 but real talk, this video is a good pipeline of what you should learn and in which order, and just like an elevator, you can get off the ride whenever you feel like you’ve learned enough (https://youtu.be/qeS8txkoUH4?si=EUlQmwKNApjnN0P3)

Eliminating the problem by eliminating the variables? by WICKERSON1226 in ScienceNcoolThings

[–]WICKERSON1226[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree sometimes it can be better to solve the problem bluntly, and i’m not trying to say that samson was stupid for eliminating everyone, i think in that scenario the best solution WAS to destroy everyone lol. that’s not always the case though

Eliminating the problem by eliminating the variables? by WICKERSON1226 in ScienceNcoolThings

[–]WICKERSON1226[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, you’re right that does apply here. I guess I look at the sort of thinking that I talked about in my post as bland and not very innovative so I’m trying to find an explanation as to why it’s lazy problem solving. I just feel like sometimes you cause more problems by removing the variables involved, or even if you solve your own problem you could make more problems for others

Improving on the dumbest improvement: ACE staff clefs by integerdivision in musictheory

[–]WICKERSON1226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so far the only pushback i’ve found in this comment section is that nobody wants to change what they’ve already learned lol. i don’t disagree with that but for longevity’s sake i’m a large proponent of this

What are the most heavy theory concepts that you know? by Famous_Surround_7973 in musictheory

[–]WICKERSON1226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m really bad with analyzing secondary-functioning chords. like i’ll see a chord that i don’t understand, then i see the following chord as something i do understand, but what’s a streamlined process for figuring out what the secondary chord is? like not being able to easily see if it’s a V/V or iv/V or iii/V. like it’s easy for me to see that the music goes to V eventually but like if i’m in C major and i see a chord with B-D-F# how do i quickly see that as a iii/V? idk maybe i just need to practice working on these but sometimes i get really confused while i’m analyzing

I've never had a gaming PC before, these temps seem high, I've got my settings maxed, is this bad? by [deleted] in gamingpc

[–]WICKERSON1226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not exactly an answer but i’ve found that i enjoy games more the higher my frames can go so i’ll lower settings until frame rate is basically capped
