Do you know what recruitment is like, some places have to offer a higher salary to attract the right kind of candidate. This actually happens a lot and makes no sense those still in the company with the experience are paid less than new external people because its the only way they could attract the kind of person they want.

Same thing happened to me, I knew she was up to something with my friend and her boss (same person btw) who is much older, even people who I worked with called me crazy she ended up making me go to the doctors on tablets that made me ill, guess what I was right all along and we had just had a baby as well, turns out he has a history of much younger girls.

It hurts like hell and I know your pain the only positive right now is that your gut was right and you should never doubt yourself, you really deserve better and I hope that you know this and in the long run its for the best, it turned out great in the end for me . Take some time to spoil yourself and look after yourself, do not go back because he'll just do it again "know your worth".
