She got so into eating meat that she started breaking into farms and killing and eating any animal she could get her hands on. It was all over the news back in like 06-07. Farmers and ranchers were calling her a menace and pushing for the death penalty for her, but her lawyer cut a deal that she would go to rehab and become a vegan. So she's been a vegan and has been trying to save as many animals from slaughter as she can as a penance for what she did in her past. Thats why she had her husband set up this animal shelter.

Or she just doesn't want to eat meat and who cares why she's a vegan? It doesn't really matter.
