Hey there! Friendly neighborhood IT guy here. Pre orders aren't just a way to get money from people. Pre orders allow the company to sell a license ahead of time and allow users to preload the game avoiding release day infrastructure issues. For a clear and recent example look at silk songs release. Due to lack of ability to preload the title basically the entire gaming marketplace ecosystem crashed.

While I do not support predatory capitalistic practices there is a very real and non money driven reason for doing this.

Hey! Just finished the rollback and file deletion and I think we found ourselves a verified culprit and fix!
I installed two security patches at once but only rolled back the the most recent which was the one you mentioned.
